Backgammon Classic Pro pairs a competitive AI Opponent, configurable match settings, and board-management controls built around standard race and doubling rules. It tracks turns, dice rolls, ratings, and match length while displaying player indicators, score details, and timer fields across the game window. 

Backgammon Classic Pro’s Game Position Editor stores custom checker layouts, then loads those positions directly onto active boards for replay or analysis. Board rendering switches between 2D Boards and 3D Boards, while input commands handle checker movement, undo actions, and recorded turn sequences. An integrated ranking table maintains local score history for up to twenty player profiles.

Match and analysis

Backgammon Classic Pro’s rule handling includes Doubling Cube calls, Jacoby options, Crawford conditions, and move validation, checking whether selected checkers match the current dice pattern. Forced-move logic activates when only one legal sequence remains, and the move is entered without extra prompts. A Recommended Move display can surface alternate lines during live turns, while back-move commands reopen the previous state for position comparison after manual input was partially committed on the board surface during analysis.

Match recording adds Game Recording files that capture checker placement, cube actions, and roll order from opening moves through resignation. Saved sessions reopen from stored states, and export routines write full match logs in text format. Those files transfer into GNU Backgammon or eXtreme Gammon for external move review, though native statistical reports remain limited to in-program summaries, with no separate database browser, sync, or cloud archive module.

Visual controls add External Dice Generator checks, avatar markers, background music toggles, and a ranked Top 20 Table that updates after rated sessions. The board editor supports drag placement and picture capture of custom positions. Display options cover multiple checker styles and board themes, with no online multiplayer lobby, live opponent directory, or built-in tournament synchronization appearing in the current interface when local profiles are the only available match-tracking source in saved sessions.

Backgammon Classic Pro combines editable board states, recorded match archives, ruleset controls, local ratings, and external analysis export into one desktop package. It handles turn validation, board rendering, and match logging without separating training tools from standard play. However, statistical reporting stays inside preset summaries, cloud archiving is absent, and online multiplayer or tournament synchronization does not appear in the included interface during local profile management or session review.
