  I was hoping for a product that would back up the outlook 2013 or 2016 to a pst. The Microsoft way is to manually do it. This product just copies a pst to a location. If the pst does not exist as in 2013 or 2016 since it is in an OST file. This tool will not create a pst from the outlook. Copy yes, create no. If I wanted to copy files I could just use xcopy and task scheduler.

  Pros

  We used the free version for a while and got a lot out of it. We chose to move to the "Enterprise" edition to have greater control over the configuration. The free version backs up Outlook even while it is open, which is very helpful. It even allows scheduling the backup to run up to three times per day.

  Cons

  The free version does not offer as much control as we wanted, but it was free. Really not a bad set of capabilities for the free version.

  Summary

  This is a very nice product for making sure you have a safe backup of your Outlook files. If you've ever tried to backup Outlook while it's open, you've encountered some challenges. We have tried custom batch files to force it closed, back it up, and re-launch it. This product is a much simpler way to get the job done. Leave it open. Back it up. Nuff said.

  Allows the backup of the PST files automatically. Works well. Even the demo version does a great job. The full version allows better network control!

  Really nothing negative. It does run at logon. Hoping the paid version will run as a service.

  I am quite satisfied with Safe PST Backup. It is very flexible and the scheduler is quite intuitive. Sometimes I even forget about it, but when i need it is always there. Thank you for this great product 4team.

  backs up your PST while it's in use (No need to shut down Outlook to back up the PST/OST files)

  Cons

  Poor manual selection of files. (have fun setting it up to back up across your network using UNC path names) The current version fails if you have more than one user profile on your machine (asking to update the registry and reboot). Due to be fixed in the "Next Version" but Christmas will get here sooner.

• Saved all my Outlook data

  Pros

  Few weeks ago my OS crashed with all my data, there was a virus or something like this. I have a little family bussiness with all my contacts in Outlook. Thanks God and Safe PST Backup, I was backuping all data to external hdd. It is really important to have a copy of all your bussiness or important personal data.

  Works without any problems, in the background. I have installed and forgot about it, until I needed it.

  This saved my PST file and a couple other items w/o much hassles. I was expecting more features than that though, like perhaps also backup all outlook rules. But no go. A simple start up batch file is just as handy as this software -- without privacy issues mentioned below!

  Cons

  For grabbing my private email address out of outlook and emailing it without my permission I'd give this a zero if cnet allowed a zero. Or even better, a negative 1000! I read the user agreement before installing this and nowhere did it overtly say it would cull installed outlook and send emails to addresses other than the address registered when installing this product. "Spyware" no. Potential security and privacy breach, yes!

  Summary

  Tons of industry certificates on their site makes the company seem legit. But hiding in obtuse language that this grabs one or more email addresses out of outlook without permission is an example of a bad corporate agent no matter how many awards or certificates they have. DO NOT USE IF PRIVACY IS A CONCERN -- especially in a business or government environment where an email address must be kept private. Your 'real' email address(es) will be exposed regardless of the email address you register this free version with. had I known that I'd never installed this software. Major privacy breach. • It just 'doesn't' work

  I get an hourglass freeze every-time I right mouse click on the tray icon. Tried re-installing several times. Tried all the different capability settings...no dice. Using windows 7.

  Summary

  Will be happy to change my rating if anyone helps me fix it.
