It has helped me to test registers of a PLC
konsys- Pros
- - The interface is easy to use, I just typed the IP address, slave address and register and it downloaded a modbus package with the correct value. - Lot of data-type conversion possibilities. I had problems converting 64 bit register values to decimal with other similar softwares, but this supports - I can log the incoming data frequently, good when I do some finetuning on the PLC or device - I tested it with a PAC3200 device at the deployment site, I was able to read out the measurement values from my laptop
- Cons
- - I wish it supported XLS instead of CSV, it's a bit tricky to copy-paste a CSV to excel for graph creation etc - For first use there are lot of buttons on the software, but after getting used to the layout it's not a problem
- Summary
- It's a good tester software, especially for a free software. upports all the data handling, masking and converting possibilities I have needed so far.
