Jyotish is the traditional Hindu system of astronomy and astrology. It is also known as Hindu astrology, Indian astrology, and Vedic astrology. Vedanga Jyotisha is one of the earliest texts about astronomy within the Vedas.Astrology remains an important facet in the lives of many Hindus. In Hindu culture, newborns are traditionally named based on their Jyotish charts, and astrological concepts are pervasive in the organization of the calendar and holidays as well as in many areas of life, such as in making decisions made about marriage, opening a new business, and moving into a new home. For such applications, it is required to draw a horoscope chart based on the native's date, time and place of birth. The horoscope will have 12 signs with 9 planets placed it it. By analysing the placement of planets in different rasis, the astrologers predict the past and future of the native. The same chart is also used to find the best suitable muhurtha for starting an event or naming a child.The dasa system is used to predict the event in different periods of life of the native. Most used such dasa is called Vimsottari dasa.This software helps the astrologer to draw the chart and also show the placement of planets and the different periods of life using Vimsottari dasa.The software uses Swiss ephemeris for the calculation of planets and displays the chart in South Indian format.
