• Not Many Features in this product

  Pros

  It works as advertised, and removes orphaned entries from the registry: orphaned means they point to non-existent files, folders, or programs, whic is often the case when software is uninstalled incompletely.

  Cons

  Not many features compared to the feature-rich Registry Cleaners on the market, some of which are totally free. I got this at a discount as an AShampoo customer, otherwise would not buy it myself at full cost.

  Summary

  Removes ophaned entries but that's it: No scanning of CLSID's, invalid ActiveX, obsolete shared DLLs, invalid uninstallers, nonexistent fonts, invalid OLE objects, etc. Lacks sophistication and thoroughness that other Registry Cleaners have. AShampoo needs to go back to the drawing board and try to improve this rather primitive cleaner. I usually give a good to excellent rating but to be totally honest, I cannot do so with this product, even though I love the rest of AShampoo's line of top notch software products, and also their very low prices. The product is currently mediocre at best; so as much as I wished to give a higher rating, I simply cannot, it would be dishonest of me.

  Pros

  My laptop was VERY sluggish, stalled but did not lock up. ARCleaner found 1700+ unlinked entries and took them all out with one click. Restart was flawless and programs run slick and fast now. Great experience.

  Cons

  My laptop now stumbles and has difficulty connecting to hotels and hotspots. Suspect the prog took out a few important registry lines. My wife's laptop had some difficulty logging back onto our hope wireless sytem the first time, also.

  Summary

  Worth the money. I feared a radical crash, like in the "old days" with this kind of program. I'm a risk taker, so tried it out, and I'm very happy with the outcome. Nice little program, good outcome and great value!
