Connection seems a bit better and stronger. Will know more after running it for a few days, but so far no major problems.

I have done some searching and found that the issue is reported in at least a dozen sites. My particular problem involves using a Macbook Pro C2D. After applying the subject update, I am unable to connect to two different D-Link routers. The only apparent fix at this time is to remove the upgrade, but that can be risky since it involved moving around some kernel items. Advice: do NOT install this update if you think you must connect to a D-Link router. I am disappointed that Apple did not fully test the implications of this update using D-Dlink routers. This bug is very serious and will disable your wireless connection to many if not most D-Link routers when WPA is turned on.

I was able to resolve this fairly quickly.<br> I can now only hold a connection for sometimes less than 30 seconds without having to close my MacBook to reset the network connection. I also notice that the Airport indicator at the top of my screen still shows a full connection but I can not ping my router.<br> <br> As mentioned in the previous post there is a few sites tracking the issue including MacFixIt.<br> <br> My MacBook is 5 months old and no longer supported by Apple. I called looking for support since the new update broke my connectivity and they told me I would have to pay $50 for them to look at it (no guarenteed fix). They acknowledged that they are aware of the issue too. <br> <br> Pretty clever business plan:<br> Poor quality work = increased revenue<br> <br> They claim they do not have to support the update "because updates are not manditory - you choose to install them"<br> Some customer service!<br> My Father in-law had an issue with a Microsoft update breaking his unsupported computer a few months ago. Microsoft fixed it for him.<br> <br> Microsoft should put out a "Get a Mac" commercial where the Mac guy dissapears due to a crappy connection<br>

Even though Airport showed four bars, I couldn't access the internet, nor even my lan for more than a few minutes. Had to sleep and wake the Macbook Pro to regain connectivity. Ended up following the instructions at macfixit.com to restore the IO80211Family.kext file to the pre-update state. Apple blew it with this one. Avoid it.
Works! Fixed my MacBook wireless issue!

I've been having wireless reconnecting issues after sleeping or rebooting at my university (which uses third party crap) instead of other popular routers like Linksys (which was re connectible. Either way, reconnecting was problematic (sometimes my MacBook refuses to fetch the saved network passwords in KeyChain and then I have to join manually). After a longer than expected reboot, everything worked. Smooth reconnection without any hesitation.
