  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />MacStumbler's a nice little app that does exactly what it's supposed to do... find wireless networks, display them onscreen, and move them to a log when they're out of range. The GUI is simplistic but nice. I like that the log is onscreen instead of hidden away somewhere like in AirStumbler. This application would be perfect if it had a Join command like AirStumbler does, but otherwise, miles ahead of every other simple wireless network audit application.

And possibly make the "manufacturer" field editable (it doesn't recognize my Netgear, so I'd like to fill it in and and then use the MAC addresses to identify others...)

I just tried this on my G4-1GHz mini-tower and iBook running OS 10.2.6 and my ancient G3-500 (kit) PowerBook Wallstreet w/ ORiNOCO Gold Card 802.11b, OS 10.1.5, Violla! Amazing! It works just like all the previous versions did that I've been using for more than a year! (Less than 12% of Mac users have switched to Bloated Buggy OS 10.2.6.) Incidentally Fred, the last 4 versions of KISMac won't work with OS 10.1.5, Dude! And the last version that did, crashed my Wallstreet and my iBook 700 when it still had 10.1.5! Even on a clean G4 Titanium 800 i have, the install and set up was a pain and flakey operating. The only thing I could ask for WEP/WAP cracking and PLEASE, keep it OS 10.1.5 friendly!!!

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Stumbler .6b was great! Stumbler .7 is better and seems to be less of RAMhog. Beware if you do not have lots of RAM it uses as much CPU time as Microsoft hogs.
