Automate the referencing of psychological books, articles, and essays.
APA Referencing Macros are Microsoft Word macros that will automate the referencing of essays written to conform to the Style as set out in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Fifth Edition (2001). They come with a document already formatted with the Title, Author, Institution, Header, Running Head, Headings, Subheadings, first line indent & double spacing. You can reference sources from Books, Reports, Brochures, Audiovisual media, Journals, Newspapers, Magazines, Book Chapters, or Articles in a Collection, Translated Works, Entries in Encyclopedia (including CD-ROM), Non periodical Internet Documents, Parts of Non periodical Internet Documents, Articles in Internet Periodicals, Messages Posted to Online Newsgroups, Forums, or Discussion Groups & Internet Journal Articles from Databases. They will show you how to enter each different type of material i.e. Sentence case for Book Titles, Headline case for Journal Titles etc. They will add the appropriate reference to the References section, including the italics, hanging indent and double spacing, and the appropriate in-text citation. They will add quotation marks to short quotes and indent the paragraph for long quotes. They will save all your references with the document you create for subsequent in-text citation, no need to do all your referencing in one session. They will automatically insert the appropriate number of authors to list in subsequent in-text citations as per APA Style. They will sort your references with the click of a button.
Simple to use and necessary for any college student.

Pros
Easy to use interface.

Great referencing section, with a lot of useful information.

Easy to use in text citations.

Every possible scenario is thought of for someone referencing a paper.
Cons
Could have been better in explaining each section, for educational use. However, that isn't what it is made for so it doesn't matter.

Where did you find these APA rules??

Summary
On the surface this macro had me convinced that my instructor would love my documentation.... Nope this macro does not follow the rules of APA. With in text citations being wrong, and the reference list putting capital letters where they don't belong and so forth.
Not useful for my needs.

Summary
Just installed the product.
I cannot switch between the data entry window and an existing document to copy existing quotations or source bibliography information from an existing document because the macro entry screen is the only window that can be opened. Also, I entered the author's name but didn't know the first name. So, I saved. Then, tried to go back and add the first initial. The program cleared my first entry, and I had to re-enter the name and initial. The program should retain this information.
