Quickly create full featured SFV files with this handy freeware program. AmoK SFV Utility's compact interface adds simple check boxes and text boxes to a file browser pull-down menu for easy operation. The tiny Help file doesn't cover much, but experienced users will quickly pick up the program.

It couldn't get any easier to create a SFV file than with this application. Simply browse a standard file tree, select a folder to check, and click a button to create CRC32 versus MD5 checksums. Text boxes make it simple to add a creator name and comment. Pick one of four languages and press Go and this application quickly creates a folder's worth of checksums. An easily set option lets the application also create checksums for subfolders.

Saving users from needing another tool, AmoK SFV Utility also quickly validates checksums. Any user who needs to work with checksums will appreciate the speed, simplicity, and power of this freeware.

Nice easy to understand interface. Seems to work fine.
Cons
Crashed after processing a few dozen files. File Adding and Folder selection is not as easy as other utilties I have tried. I am running Vista 64 Premium - could have something to do with the crashing. Not sure.
Summary
Not recommended for Vista 64 - program crashes after doing only a moderate volume of files. Making it unusable. The install and uninstall are easy so its no risk to try it apparently so I give it 2 stars.

Summary
If you are working with filenames in ascii, as many do, this does basic tasks with sfv files. The program is not the prettiest around, but then it's an utility program, so functionality is the most important thing. Moving crc calculations to a different thread will quite likely fix many display issues. Showing calculation progress would be nice too.
Doesn't support accented characters like ?.

Simple and small util for creating and checking SFV checksums.

Biggest con: can't deal with letter like ?. Will create checksums only for full directories. Can't set the checksum name or location.
Summary
Probably it's an okay program, maybe even 4/5, but misses the point I was looking for: opportunity to create checksums for files with strange letters. Dear creators, please realize there are so many languages other than English!

Create and check SFV files on PC.

AmoK SFV Utility is a small tool for creating and checking .sfv files. SFV stands for Simple File Verification and is a standard for describing a checksum for a file list. With a sfv file you can easily check if a download (of multiple files) is complete or if files are missing or files are damaged.

AmoK SFV Utility creates and checks .sfv files. In contrast to most other tools, AmoK SFV Utility cannot only use CRC32 but also MD5 (120 Bit). Furthermore, any user can set a comment in the sfv file.
