Editors’ Review
Launching programs, running commands, and opening documents are a piece of cake thanks to this free launcher's easy to navigate user interface.
Our first impression of Advanced Run's intuitive interface was a good one. The design is very no-nonsense. All you have to do is either type the name of the program, folder, or file you want to launch, or you can select it from the extensive drop-down list. A browse option also is included. The program employs command shortcuts and templates for quickly launching frequently used programs and files. Once we entered our command and clicked the OK button, the application immediately appeared. To locate a file as a different user, you do have to know the username and password. But as soon as we entered the information, we were able to jump in and launch and browse for programs with ease. The Settings menu lets you create and edit command shortcuts, import and export settings, and save command history.
The program does come with a Help feature, as well as an online FAQ, though we found them both lacking specific how-to information. But no worries--novices and experienced users alike will find this a very simple program to use for quickly launching programs.
