Keeping track of your daily, weekly, and monthly tasks is almost a full-time job. With so much going on, people often need a little help. Active To-Do List offers such help, but those well acquainted with similar programs might want more help than this one offers.

The program's basic interface is plain, but so simple that most users should not find it confusing. The display is a plain, white box that contains simple icons for allowing people to create new tasks, and edit, delete, and move their priority tasks. Creating a new task is simple. Once the icon is clicked, users can give it a title and fill in details in the body of the list. From there you can set its due date, an alarm, give it a category, and organize how frequently it repeats.

Tasks are listed in order of due date if no priority is set; however, the prioritized tasks get moved to the top instantly. Active To-Do List is a fine program that functions as it promises, but its plain interface and lackluster performance failed to wow us. In our tests we have encountered several similar products that offer more versatility, visual impact, and intuitive use. However, if you have used other programs and haven't found a suitable task organizer, give this 60-use trial a shot.

Great product - best of kind I've found - great support

Pros
I've been using this for 2-3 years to handle everything I want to be sure not to forget. I setup email alerts to myself (and/or my cell phone) for anything, and pop-up/audio alerts to the screen. It just WORKS and I've rarely come across bugs
Cons
It's offline, so you can't change it from anywhere as you can, say, Yahoo Calendar. But this is much better than Yahoo Calendar.

Its fast and effective. Not overly frilly and no conflict with software. In the past - other lists have had issues with folderlock (which i use).

Pros
Using atodo for last few wks. Like its no frills spartan look. Does what it is intended to do. Simple to use.

Pros
Can set deadlines, categories (customizable), add notes to tasks, set priorities, and add alarms with great options that include everything from playing a sound, to a pop-up window, to sending an email or launching a program at the designated alarm time. Hovering over the taskbar icon reveals your list in a popup. Can also "add task" right from task bar icon. Nifty little tool.
Cons
Print function is a bit clunky, but once figured out, sufficient. Wish categories could also be color-coded. Wish completed items would automatically be deleted (or at least wish I had the option to set that preference).
