Don t let the title trick you. Action DVD & DivX Player does support popular video formats, but it CAN T play back DVDs. On closer examination, you will find out that the program is nothing else but a skin for Windows Media Player (which actually does the main job). The utility only adds a bare-bones organizer for your videos. The program displays advertising banners. Other freeware media players offer much more functionality, so we see no particular reason to bother about downloading this one, especially if you have Windows Media Player installed on your PC.

What is this supposed to be?

It made me laugh, cool music in the intro.
Cons
Is not a DVD player at all, when I used it it started by playing the song "It takes two" while showing random spotlights and then a picture of a cheetah-man spinning his fist. Afterwards, I got this nag screen asking to support the revival of "Active Enterprises", whoever they are, by buying a SUPER DX version. Then this weird menu showed up with like 52 different options, most of them were activated adware like 2portalmon and none of them played DVDs.
Summary
This is one of the most misleading programs ever, it doesn't do what's advertised and the only "action" I got out of it was this weird interactive game where you can play as a fighting cheetah and even that sucked! DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS!

None, unless you WANT to be infected.
Cons
Contains "Adware.Savenow" malware. Try scanning a little better CNet. Even Symantec picked it up, which doesn't say much.
Summary
Downloading will infect your PC.
Just an excuse to bundle adware.

Didn't get a real chance to use the software, so I don't know

I tried to open it, Windows said it wasn't responding IMMEDIATELY. Next, I get a popup notification from Norton about some file with the word adware in its name. I figured from there that it is best to uninstall this crap.
