Imagine sitting in front of your laptop in an unprotected area (university, library, at work) and you have to leave it unattended for a short period of time. That's where A.L.A.R.M. comes into play. It silently sits in your system tray until you lock your workstation. If now somebody removes the A/C power connection to steal your laptop, A.L.A.R.M. will play a loud sound from your Laptop speakers until power is back again or you have unlocked your workstation. This is not the best theft protection, but better than nothing. And maybe you're just around the corner or even in the same room, having your eyes on something else.You can use any media file you like, A.L.A.R.M. supports all major file formats. A brilliant alarm siren is already included.A.L.A.R.M. is free open source software released under GPL.
