HELP & SETTINGS

Editors' Review

Although not feature-rich, this application quickly scans your computer for any Registry errors. Registry Cleaner's interface is visually appealing and very easy to use. Like other Registry cleaners, it scans for common Registry errors such as ActiveX objects, invalid application paths and file types, orphaned help files, obsolete program installations, and the Start menu and start-up list. The program allows you to fix located errors but, unfortunately, the trial version is limited to fixing 20 errors. If removing an object causes a system problem, you can restore the Registry from the backups the application creates. Although features such as defragmentation and trace removal aren't included, Registry Cleaner did locate numerous errors and quickly cleaned the few files it designated. Any user can try this application, although others can provide more complete functionality.
