Editors’ Review
Not that very long ago a desktop calendar was a big paper thing that sat on top of your desk (sometimes under your typewriter). Now it's typically a piece of software like Interactive Calendar. This attractive program makes it easy to view a calendar on your computer desktop and keep detailed records of upcoming events. We think it's a nice option if you want something more comprehensive than the built-in Windows calendar but don't want to use the calendar that's integrated into your e-mail client.
Interactive Calendar has a sleek, customizable interface. The calendar is meant to appear as a translucent object on the desktop, but you can adjust its opacity, color, fonts, shadows, and much more, giving it a custom look. You can also specify where on the desktop the calendar appears, and an optional wallpaper changer can add extra pizzazz to the desktop. You can create events with start and end times, and each event also has a text editor area in which notes and other details can be recorded. It didn't appear to us that the program has any way to set alerts, so if you need something that's going to remind you when an event is coming up, Interactive Calendar might not be the best choice. But if you're really just in the market for an attractive, highly customizable desktop calendar and you can depend on yourself to see what upcoming events need your attention, we think Interactive Calendar is a great choice. The program doesn't have a Help file, but most people should be able to figure it out with a bit of experimentation.
Interactive Calendar installs and uninstalls without issues.
