• Superb way to keep track of my files

  Pros

  Easy to use, fast search time, they can do text extraction, fully automated workflow as well.

  Cons

  My native language is Polish so it would be nice to have a Polish version in the future.

  Summary

  I can't say anything but good things about DX. My business unit has used it since I onboarded in 2009. I took responsibility for maintaining it a year later and it's super easy to work with. Every year they put out a new version with more features and this year they included workflow designer, so I am in the process of using this feature for a big business process management project I am working on. Their support team is excellent to work with too.

• Great and reliable document archiving product

  Pros

  Been using DX for years now (10+?) and it's definitely helped me get my office better organized. We have tons of data in there now and have been able to free up lots of space in my office by scanning and then destroying the paper trail.

  Cons

  I can't think of any. When I first got it back in 2005, it was a bit slow but every year they improve it with new features and a faster database. Now, a search takes less than a second.

  Summary

  I would recommend this software to businesses that are looking to better manage their office files. They are a good business partner and easy to work with.

• Nicely designed DMS

  Pros

  As an IT Professional for various organizations, I've worked with a few DMS over the years and, most recently, with DocuXplorer. I've found Docuxplorer to be the easiest to support - very few technical issues reported by employees and it's also secure as well. I have full audit trail and this has come in handy when HR needs to see what a disgruntled employee has been up to.

  Cons

  I've always been satisfied when i needed support assistance.

  Summary

  The software is solid and well thought out. Internal database server is fast and glitch free, so my time can be spent on other projects.

• Super investment, worth every penny

  Pros

  Really fast and easy to find documents, overall my employees and I use this on a daily, if not hourly, basis and we are very pleased with it. We have a dedicated scanner and we use temps to scan in our invoices and other customer data. Then they update the fields with the information so we can find it later.

  Cons

  Would love to have an iPhone version for use in the warehouse.

  Summary

  I think I covered everything. It's a really good piece of software that we have come to depend on. I am sure we don't take full advantage of all the built in features it has such as the security settings and optical character recognition but we do plan on implementing this in another department and they may take advantage of them. For our purposes, it does exactly what we want it to do and we are very happy with it.

• Solid DMS that gets the job done

  Pros

  Too many to list. Biggest pro is probably speed. I can run reports to weed out 2 documents from the millions I have stored in seconds. Also very quick when accessing Docuxplorer via remote desktop.

  Cons

  Would like to have more "smart" OCR if such a thing is even do-able. Their ability to create zones to automatically populate metadata is great, though. We use this for stacks of invoices. Reduces time employees need to spend in front of a scanner.

  Summary

  I've been using Docuxplorer for a number of years (and had many different versions) and the latest version is, as expected, the best. I got an email from them saying they would be adding automated workflow in this year's version and that would be an exceelent new feature we definitely need!

• Now with remote access - perfect when working from home

  Pros

  I've been a DocuXplorer owner for years now and have always been very pleased with how it works. My only gripe was that they didn't have a cloud-based solution. Now they do! Since I work from home several days a month, I can now retrieve files from my office DocuXplorer from my laptop. I even tested it on my iPad and it works great! Very happy they finally introduced a web-based version. This will definitely appeal to many people in my situation who need access to their documents when they aren't tied to a desk in the office.

  Cons

  Since they now have a web-based version (which is something I pushed them hard to do), I can see no cons. I've always been very pleased with their software and how they support clients like me.

  Summary

  Not much to say since pretty much everything about this software is described in other reviews. I'm posting a review because I'm blown away by their customer service. On the rare occassion I've needed help finding a file or customizing the security settings, I've always had my questions answered in no time. One time I was not able to perform a task and they were even able to remotely access my Docuxplorer from their offices and resolve the problem over the web! With most software, once you purchase it, you never hear from the company again. With Docuxplorer, I can pick up the phone and talk to my account rep anytime I want and know that their tech support rocks!

• We couldn't survive without it

  Pros

  Quick searches, technical support when I need it, optical character recognition included, integration with Microsoft Office, staff finds it extremely easy to use the index sets to tag files and find them later, can run reports and email results to individuals, etc.

  Cons

  It would be nice if there was an option to change the color schematic so we could have it match our company's identity. Not a critical requirement, but a nice-to-have.

  Summary

  Our challenge: Our company needed a better way to manage our company documents ranging from correspondence to invoices to HR records. We literally had thousands of documents we didn't want lose in case of fire or another disaster so we decided to scan them into a Windows folder. Needless to say, this was not an ideal solution as we couldn't find them once they were scanned in! With Docuxplorer we could create fields (they call them meta data) to categorize and organize the scans so they could be found quickly. We can even run reports and send the files in the report to someone's email or a Windows folder for easy retrieval. There's probably a lot more to their software than I am aware of, but for our organizational needs, it had all the features we needed and we are quite pleased with it. We even configured it so one of our employees can access from her house on days she works from home.

• I'm finally paperless!

  Pros

  Fast and easy searching, setup was easy and training was great, works great with our Fujitsu scanners, able to capture invoice #s and client names through the optical character recognition. We are now even using it to capture our QuickBooks data.

  Cons

  We had wanted the ability to customize a field that wasn't possible in the software but after we reported it to them, they were actually able to make the feature available to us and gave us the update free!

  Summary

  My small business (jewelry manufacturer) had boxes and boxes of invoices, purchase orders, shipping receipts, etc. from the last 10 years that we wanted to archive. We also wanted to import electronic invoices as we pushed to go paperless. Docuxplorer was the ideal solution. All of our employees now have access to every invoice we ever produced (going back over a decade!) and we can find any file we need with a click of a button. Very impressive solution and we would recommend it to anyone in our situation.

• Perfect solution for my office - finally paperless!

  Pros

  Easy setup, easy to use, quick. It was a perfect way for us to organize our invoices. Now we can search by client and invoice # and even by keyword. There is even a way of exporting the files we need and sending them to our vendors very painlessly, eliminating a very cumbersome process we had in place before.

  Cons

  We don't have any complaints so far.

  Summary

  Our accounting department was overwhelmed filing the paper invoices we process over the course of a year. We wanted to go paperless (like everyone else seems to be doing) so one of our employees suggested Docuxplorer. We just scan the invoices into docuxplorer and it automatically recognizes the invoice number and client name so we don't even have to type it in. Searching is very easy and we can easily run reports for clients in minutes compared to the many hours it would take us when we were paper based. We have probably reduced our usage of paper by 10,000 sheets a year. Granted, that's probably not even a tree's worth but we want to do our part to help the environment and also improve employee productivity at the same time!
