Clean (it’s extremely likely that this software program is clean)

Set quick reminders and alarms, enhance the look of your system tray clock, and synchronize with atomic timeservers with this feature-rich application. Upon installation, 1st Clock resides in the system tray, displaying the current time, including seconds, and the date. View the features by right-clicking; each feature has a clean but crowded interface. The alarm feature provides a wealth of options. You can display a customized message window; set reoccurrences; play alarm sounds, including audio files, CD tracks, and numerous PC speaker melodies; and launch files or programs. The reminders provide the same functionality as the alarms but come with six preset times, which some similar top alarm applications don't provide. We were impressed with the clock options, which include memory and CPU usage indicators. You also can synchronize your clock from among the provided time servers. To add to its bonanza, the built-in calendar includes a view of the lunar position. The major drawbacks are the inexplicable low volume of the alarm and the nag screen that pops up every time you attempt to close an alarm. Despite those minor irritations, users searching for an advanced PC alarm will be delighted with 1st Clock.
What’s new in version 5.0
Version 5.0 adds world clock--displays time from multiple time zones in the taskbar or on the desktop; clock transparency; full Windows 7 support (32 and 64-bit).
Software works great and I really like it ... BUT there is a BIG BUT (See below)
Cons
I bought this and have been trying to contact them about an issue I have with it, and I have a) gone to their site and filled out a tech support request; b) I have emailed them at 2 different given tech support email addresses - about 3 times - and STILL no support, no reply whatsoever and this is the 3rd week or so...
Summary
I cannot recommend this software unfortunately because there is apparently NO tech support! Who would pay for a software that has no tech support???
I recommend you DO NOT.

None that I can think of.
Summary
Well, I am a PC and Electronics engineer. I have been using 1st Clock since it first came out years ago, and it just keeps getting better and smarter. I find it indispensable. A very thoughtful development team for a long time running. I am surprised there are not more posts about it, really.
For the average user It can be used simply and easily, and for the curious or power user types ...you can customize it quite a bit. Support is great, and always has been.
There is no reason not to try this if you are looking at it right now.
I do not work for and am not affiliated with Green Parrot. Its just been so useful to me, and I am finished testing the new version 4 (for several months at least now), and its great, so I thought I'd post.
Love program - Hate SPLASHSCREEN
pgardens
Pros
I need the date at which is the main purpose I got this program, and it works great with Vista 64-bit.I like almost everything about the program.
Cons
I really hate the Splashscreen that appears on Startup. Would like to have a way to turn that feature off.
Summary
I want my machine as lean as possible and don't want to see anything when starting up the computer. It is not necessary to any part of the program. Hope you send an update so this could be turned off.
An Exceptional Piece of Software

Pros
There is NOTHING to not like about 1st Clock. At last, a program that will do what Microsoft SHOULD have done, and display both the time AND date in your system tray. And unlike every other program I tried, both free and otherwise, it mimics the Windows tray and actually functions properly, even in Vista.

The reminder function is exceptional. It's extraordinarily flexible and still has an intuitive interface. And, just in case that wasn't enough for you, you can also set up the program to keep your computer on the correct time by synchronizing it with a number of different internet time servers. In short, it's worth every penny.
Cons
My only complaint is about the trial version: since it's limited to 30 days, there's no need for the nag screen. Once you've used it for 30 days it'll be too hard to part with. No annoying nagging necessary.

Can't Stop Using It

Pros
Been using this for years. Got date+time, Cpu and Mem usage right there at the top of my screen all the time (or in the tray if I prefer, but I don't). Its a solid alerter for me year-round. Only takes 1.2KB mem. Nicely customizable.
