Summary
So I haven't seen many reviews anywhere for this product that is more than a few sentences so I thought I would put one up for those of you that want to know more about the program. I came across this program looking for something that will let me print labels on my mac. Apparently none of the big label maker companies care about macs and so you can't buy a program from the store. I had bought a Memorex label making kit only to find out that they hate Apple or something. After doing some searching it turns out the iWinSoft's CD/DVD label maker is the best way to go. One great thing about iWinSoft's program is that they have a very large list of label templates that are commonly available for you to use. For instance, the Memorex kit I bought was on the list. This ends up beating out the software that comes with the label making kits because they only support one type of template, theirs. iWinSoft's program on the other hand supports a large number of templates, so no worries about what type of labels you bought or may buy. Also, you can choose which parts of the label you want to print. On the Memorex templates there are 2 disc labels, 2 spine labels and 2 case labels. In this program you can choose which ones you want to print. Also, you can print alignment sheets on a normal piece of paper just to see where it will be printed. This makes sense because you want to make sure you know how you should put the templates in so that you don't screw things up. Another great thing about this program is the vast number of clipart, backgrounds and effects you can choose from to put on the label. I spent a long time looking at what they have and I still didn't get through it all. So don't worry that the effects are sparse. But if you would rather use one of your own pictures then that is just as easy. All you have to do is drag and drop it from iPhoto into the program and it will automatically place it in the program. No imports or exports or anything of that nature is needed. Very simple like a mac program should be. I did this with some DVDs to send to family with a picture of my son on it. I just dragged and dropped, sized the picture on the disk template in the program, added some words and that was it. A great looking label in about 5 min. Although it is a very simple program to use, it is not a simple program. There are still lots of nifty things you can do with it that I am still learning. So don't skip out on this if you want an all-encompassing program that you can control every little detail, because this program can do that too. I would have to say y only gripe is that since there are so many things it can do, some kind of getting started/instructional video would be great. I would highly recommend this to anyone and am just really glad someone finally made a stand up label program for the mac.
