The Windows registry is often considered forbidden territory for newbies. Only the most experienced users are encouraged to peer into its contents. Wise Registry Cleaner claims to offer a tool that even the least experienced can use without fear of wreaking havoc upon their computer. While the tool is indeed easy to use, it doesn't offer anything extra to help put new users at ease with their registry.
Wise Registry Cleaner presents a simple, easy-to-understand interface with three tabs at the top that walk you through its cleaning features. We started with the program's main selling point, its Registry Cleaner. Our first scan uncovered 412 registry issues, with six deemed unsafe. We did like that it offers a breakdown of the scan results before any action is taken, allowing you to manually select which keys you want fix instead of leaving it up to the program. What we didn't like was that it didn't ask us if we wanted to create a backup of our registry before moving forward. This is imperative for all users in case a registry key is deleted by mistake. The program does include a Backup feature that lets you create a system restore point and a full backup, but it's up to you to do it first.
Once we had made our selections, we clicked the Start Cleaning button, and in literally a second, the program came back claiming that all but four issues were resolved. For those of us who are forgetful about regular PC maintenance, Wise lets you schedule regular registry scans so that you don't have to remember. As a bonus, the program includes a System Tuneup feature that offers to improve bootup and shutdown speeds; we found that it worked. The Registry Defrag also lived up to its promise of tidying up our registry to improve our computer's performance. An ample online help feature is available, though we think that most users won't need to use it for basic cleanups.
Wise Registry Cleaner installs and uninstalls without any issues. We still don't recommend that new users poke around in their registry, but the program works just fine for those of us who are more comfortable with keeping it maintained.

"This is the best registry cleaner"

Easy to use interface. Better than Slim Cleaner which I found to be bloatware. And better than Auslogic Registry Cleaner which seemed to get a higher editor's rating although I can't figure out why????

Summary
Freeware, trialware,, or out of the box for a cost software. By comparison Wise Registry Cleaner is equal and in most instances superior to all that's out there regardless of cost.

automatic, requiring little or no user input, just click and go. SAFE cleaning of the registry; I've never had this product damage my system, cause problems of any kind.

some PC gurus don't believe registry cleaning does any good; I am not one of them.
Summary
This product not only has good and safe registry cleaning, but has a tab for System Tuneup and Registry Defrag. One thing for the user to watch out for is, System Tuneup will have checked by default, to disable the 'Autoplay' feature for removable drives, as a security measure. Some users, myself included, want to keep this feature - but this product is good to suggest disabling that, since it is one means of infection. The Wise Registry Cleaner is a good and FREE product to combine with the Wise Disk Cleaner, for effective PC maintenance.

I experienced this registry cleaner in Wise Care 365 and found it working fine. So I tried searching for a portable and separated Registry cleaner like this.
It remains it's quality as a portable tool, too. I can feel the speed of my PC. Faster. Thanks a lot.
Meanwhile, to my knowledge, this freeware is clean and I haven't been notified with any virus,etc. with the most updated AV tools installed in my PC.Cons

I can not think of any pro's for this, as I find registry cleaners and optimizers eventually mess up everything and Microsoft agreed with me when I asked them. I been a computer tech for 20 years now and simply put, this kind of software is not worth the trouble

If you must do anything with the registry do it manually, do not rely on software for such things, as what the proclaim to do and what they actually do I have found to be two different things. I was on line with Microsoft after using a registry cleaner (this one) to help me fix the computer as I worked on in for 3 hours to no avail and Microsoft finally got it fixed when I gave them permission to take over the computer on line, then I ASKED THEM not the other way around, if it was truly safe to use registry optimizers and cleaners.. They said to me, it is not in my best interest to do that as windows was quite able to take care of itself unless YOU mess with it. I used this software and found absolutely no speed difference or anything else, but after a while it surly did mess things up quite nicely. YOU have been warned.

It claimed to work, noticed no differences afterwards.

It installs one of the worst browser hijackers I've seen (and I've been working on computers for over 12 years now) it doesn't show up immediately, but over the course of three days it slowly proceeds to hijack your browsers, and screw up random things on your computer.

This test was done in an enclosed setting, meaning that I haven't installed any other programs recently except this one on it.
I can't believe how many positives this garbage has received, sure it does the job (or so it says), but is it worth the price?
I also can't believe that C-Net would back them up! Shame on them, for years I've depended on them for virus-free software because I trusted them, never again.

I'm always nervous about messing with the registry and won't do it myself. I used to use a different cleaner that came recommended by the computer tech I used at that time. However, finances got tight and I could no longer afford the yearly fee. I was uncertain about using a free cleaner, but I trust C/Net as much as I will trust any online site and tried it. Glad I did!

Easy to use,seems to scan quickly and clean up temp files etc.You can get it to perform schedules daily/weekly etc.Wise Registry Cleaner recommend you use Wise Disc Cleaner in Tandem,the latter you use first,then the Registry Cleaner.Both are Free programs and do about the same as my previous paid cleaner,(license key out of date).I did not renew my key and now use Wise Cleaners.
