CNET Editors' review
Much like its professional counterpart, WinLock offers an endless array of options for locking certain files, functions, and even Web access. And as is the case with the professional version, our only complaint is that its Internet options work only with Internet Explorer.
WinLock's interface will appeal to all user levels. It's easy to navigate. All of your protection options are listed under drop-down style menu buttons. The program includes options for hiding files and folders, disabling system features such as Windows' Registry Editor and Task Manager, and limiting access to executable files. You can also manage your Start Menu display, block specific hot-key combos, and even mouse functions. The entire program is password protected. Once we enabled it, we checked off on various restriction options. As soon as we clicked OK, the program immediately activated our restrictions. Unfortunately, if you're a Firefox user, the Internet restrictions won't work for you; they only work for IE. But there are still plenty of other privacy options to keep you satisfied.
An extensive Help menu is included with the program. WinLock offers a fully functional, 30-day trial period. With its well-designed user interface and solid performance, we highly recommend WinLock as an exceptional tool for managing computer access.
Publisher's Description
From Crystal Office Systems:
WinLock is a comprehensive security program for personal or publicly accessible computers. It is a program that ensures that only authorized people can access sensitive information on your computer. With WinLock you can control how long others can use your computer. It runs from the system tray and requires a password to gain access to the available settings. It loads automatically with Windows and allows you to add an optional startup message, provide audio notification, and set the time limit. Once that limit is reached, Windows is summarily shut down. You can toggle the timer on and off from the tray. WinLock also lets you to disable Windows hotkeys, lock Windows Desktop, and hide the Start button and Switch bar. It also lets you deny access to selected files, applications, and Explorer windows, USB and hard drives.
What's new in this version: Version 5.37 includes support for remote messages and minor fixes.

Summary
All you have to do is Ctr-Alt-Delete and disable the program before it is fully loaded. I wrote the company but never heard from them... this program is absolutely useless to me.
