During the test, Video Card Stability Test as much as possible loads GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), this ability can be very useful for detection of frequencies on which the video card can stably work. Video Card Stability Test uses VertexShader and PixelShader if are supported by a video card.

CNET Editor's Note: Win 98-XP users need to have DirectX 9.0 or later installed.

"Good simple program."

Pros: Easy to use. Verified my suspicions that my video card was causing problems.

Cons: When it found artifacts, the display it offered as proof did not show any artifacts.

Summary: This simple looking test will give a good test of most of the video cards capabilities without burdening you with a detailed setup.

Version: Video Card Stability Test 1.0.0.3 build 80416

"Nice video benchmark program"

Pros: It runs great with Windows Vista and it shows a CGI graphic of the earth backwards! It lets you post your video benchmark on the program's website where you can compare yours to what is on the market.

Cons: The graphic of the earth spinning backwards and in some desktops (all windows) the graphic sometimes does not show during the benchmark test.

Summary: This is is a nice program to test the ability of your video card. You can't go wrong with something this simple!
