SunsetScreen allows you to warm the colours of the screen to avoid blue glare and sleep better at night. You can set the colour and times of the sunset and sunrise independently. Morning larks, night owls and even those who work night shifts will benefit from using SunsetScreen because their sleep cycles are hours apart from each other.

Set the sunset time precisely. Set the sunrise time too. Choose by colour temperature or by HSB for a precise colour. Transition from one phase to the other slowly. Automatically resides in the tray so it keeps out of your way. Loads automatically at Windows startup if you wish. Instantly turn off SunsetScreen if you need to do colour sensitive work. Choose from a range of presets, and reset to default if things go wonky. Small, fast, elegant and easy to use interface in less than a megabyte. Great..More to my needs than sunset-synchronised dimmer

Pros
Can set to dim/brighten at a consistent time throughout the year. Not tied to synchronisation with the daylight hours so useful. Beats fumbling about with incomprehensible monitor menu systems

Summary
Great for my tired old eyes.Developers are obsessed with the "clean modern user interface" ie blinding white screens that make one's eyes hurt and give one a blue led zing just as one should be settling down for the night. Reducing the blue content reduces the stimulation which physiologically affects sleepingpaftterns I used another auto dimmer but it synchronises with daylight, which was no use here in the far north when it's dark by 15:00 in winter and still light at midnight in summer. The blue dimmers help me sleep and with this one the blue light dimming can be set for the same time all year round.
