SmartSync Pro doesn't offer any groundbreaking features, but it has the functionality businesses need. Like similar programs, SmartSync Pro uses profiles to store information on recurring backup tasks, including filters and scheduling options.

IT staffers will appreciate the program's turnkey profile templates, export/import capabilities, and tree interface for categorizing numerous profiles. SmartSync Pro's scheduler can start a backup at set intervals, at Windows start-up, or when the contents of a folder change. The program also can perform system actions before and after backup. For example, it might dial an online service, run an application, or shut down the PC. It can even automatically hand off backup packages via e-mail or FTP.

Other business-friendly features include multiuser and multilanguage support, password protection, and folder synchronization via LAN or packages similar to Windows Briefcase. SmartSync Pro's plain-Jane interface won't win awards, but its superb feature set ought to please business users.

Publisher's description

From SmartSync Software :

SmartSync Pro is a universal tool for backing up and synchronizing your important data to your local drive; external flash, USB, or ZIP drive; CD or DVD; NAS or other storage device; network volume; or even remote computer. If source data is destroyed or lost, it can easily be recovered. An intuitive wizard will help you set up what to copy, and where and when to copy it. The program replicates only new and updated files, which substantially reduces synchronization time. SmartSync Pro allows you to synchronize files and folders when computers cannot be connected over a local network. Its filtering system lets you keep synchronized only the files you need.

What's new in this version:

Version 3.1 build 82 can copy open and in-use files, supports Zip64 format (unlimited number of files in archive and unlimited file sizes), starts synchronization on disk insertion, identifies removable disk by label and serial number, features strong AES-256Bit encryption.
