Designed to guard your PC from unauthorized access, Simple Desktop Lock's security measures are easily defeated. The program's no-frills interface lets you set up a password and gives a few aesthetic options, such as choosing background image, color, movies, or sound for the lock screen. We appreciate its assistance in disabling common bypass techniques such as the Task Manager, Alt Tab keys, and the taskbar, but this didn't prove to be adequate in offsetting the negatives. Simple Desktop Lock doesn't save user configurations, and you'll need to set up the password protection each time you want to lock your PC. It also doesn't offer quick hot keys to launch the program or lock the screen, features commonly found in similar security applications. Its weakest spot: intruders can easily disable the lock screen by merely rebooting the PC. Simple Desktop Lock proved too simple to be useful, and security-minded folks should look elsewhere for a more effective way to safeguard their PCs.Publisher's description
From Securi-ONE :The perfect answer to physical security of your desktop. Despite the name this application is in no way simple. Using multiple methods to ensure a stable secure lock this program also offers many stylish options for users. Unlike using the average dull windows login screen to lock your desktop, you can choose between four different styles of protection (solid color, picture, movie, flash). You can not only visually secure your desktop, but you can also play background music.

Version: Simple Desktop Lock 1
Cons: After I installed this and tried running it, it would not give me anything to type in my password and also when I tried using the Ctrl Alt Del, it just popped up a popup window saying Task Manager has been disabled by Administrator and I never disable the task manager. Now I cannot get it to load so I can uninstall the program nor is it listed in the Add Remove Programs list.

Version: Simple Desktop Lock 1
Pros: It did provide a pseudo-lock
Cons: It doesn't actually lock the desktop - it just covers it in a black screen, and if your resolution is more then 800x600 then it doesn't even cover all the screen.
It doesn't lock the desktop at all - you can still use the desktop, its just a virtual equivalent of putting your hand over the screen.
You can still access the toolbar and the Start Menu, which is where all your programmes are kept anyway!
When it does lock, you can't unlock it! The programme seems to disable the keyboard, so you can't type in the password when you want to unlock it!
ITS INSANITY IN VIRTUAL FORM

Version: Simple Desktop Lock 1
"A piece of crap - Full of malicious stuff"
Pros: none
Cons: This is full of spware & viruses. As soon as I executed the file after installation, norton detected it as a harmful file. Moreover its request for net access was blocked by my firewall. Now wot would a product like this would have to do with internet connection. Suckz

Version: Simple Desktop Lock 1
Pros: None that I can find that's worth the spyware
Cons: Right after installing, the program attempted to gain internet access. Why would a desktop locking program need this? There is no information in the docs about why it would 'phone home.' It also writes a lot of unnecessary things to the registry, although I stopped it before it could write much, so I don't know what else it had planned.
I ran the uninstall tool and guess what - it's still there. Big surprise. And it still loads itself at startup.
Check out the company's website. It says "Securi-ONE is a company based around security. We develop easy to use tools for your computer to keep you safe from hackers, viruses, and physical attacks." This is the ONLY program that the company has and it is a shell of a website. It looks like a front for spyware.
