Sometimes there are instances where the stock uninstaller for Windows just isn't enough: Revo Uninstaller is a deep cleaning uninstallation utility that does more than just remove a program from the surface.
Once you open the program, you'll see a ribbon-like menu with a couple of options. Programs can be listed via icons or in list form with details that include installation dates, file sizes, version number, uninstall strings, and more. To uninstall a program, select one or more installed applications and choose either "Uninstall" or "Quick Uninstall."
The main difference between the two options is that the regular Uninstall mode lets you opt out of removing specific leftover files; but other than that, both are relatively the same. Unlike the built-in Windows Add/Remove function, we found Revo's ability to queue up multiple uninstallations to be really useful. This becomes especially useful when doing some spring cleaning on your PC; the default Windows uninstaller forces users to always return to the Add/Remove menu to manually trigger each individual uninstallation.
As with the free version, Revo Uninstaller Pro does a fantastic job of performing extended scans on your system to remove leftover files. Though there are three scanning mode tiers, we just generally recommend sticking with either Moderate or Advanced; if you're using a deep uninstaller, you might as well get the most out of it. Summary
I've used this for years, first on XP and now on Win7. I have had no problems at all, and plan to use this for as long as I can. The only problem for Revo is: I can't understand why I would want to upgrade to the "Pro" version. (Although come to think of it, I think I will, as a reward for creating a great free program that I've used many times.)

Despite email after email, visiting them at their site, and trying a phone number I found, this company refuses to answer.

Use the freeware; do NOT buy the Pro version. Revo refuses to acknowledge purchase and ignores all communication.

This was a fantastic program when i had Vista. It kept my computer in great shape

Now that I have Windows 8 it won't work, get hung up all the time. I wish they would fix these issues for us Windows 8 users. Wish I knew what other program would work as good on windows 8. Any Ideas, out there, if so let me know. I'd really appreciate your help!

Revo only found 81 programs, your uninstaller 86, windows own uninstaller 119 and wise uninstaller 121. I have used revo for about a year now. But was frustrated that it wouldn't even list newly installed programs!!!!! So I searched and found wise uninstaller instead. It is so much better than revo and it finds all of my programs;]

Don't waste your time on this program. Choose e.g. wise instead and see for yourself what I mean.

Revo is quick and thorough; it does what Windows' add/remove does not - it removes all files and folders, and entries in the Registry.

I recently upgraded a Windows 7 Home Premium installation to Windows 8 Pro and, as a result, decided to clean up the installation.
There were simply too many extra apps installed, all of which did similar things, like defragment the registry, update drivers, and more.
It became clear - because Win 8 Pro 32-bit is a resource hog - that I needed to clean up the PC in many ways.
I had used Revo Uninstaller in the past, and downloaded the latest version of the free-ware. The task of cleaning up began.
I found that Revo did exactly what I needed, as it removed all of each application, or suite's, files and folders; it went farther, by removing the Registry entries for each app or suite.
It is certainly worth trying this utility, as it does aid in your cleanup tasks. -
