It doesn't have the speediest scan time, but this Registry cleaning tool looks good, performs well, and will appeal to the novice and the expert user alike. RegScrubXP's clean, logical, and informational interface is one of the best we've tested in this genre. The interface uses large easy-to-read text function buttons. Found information is displayed in a spreadsheet format. Columns are easily resized, but can't be sorted. Novice users can well use the application with just a pair of functions, but the program includes many tools for advanced users.

RegScrubXP's Registry scan isn't the fastest we've tested, but it's still speedy enough to satisfy most users. The program displays the section, key, and problem description for every bad Registry key. It takes just a pair of clicks to select all found problems and remove them. Advanced users can just as easily choose a problem and click to browse to the key's folder or Registry entry. Another function click adds selected keys to an exclusion folder while that folder is as easily emptied. The application stores deleted key information, and it's easy to return selected keys by deletion date.

An advanced function displays keys and additional information by Registry section. RegScrubXP outstrips many of the pay-for-use programs in the registry cleaning category. It's surprising that it's free. We can easily recommend this solid cleaning tool to any user looking to keep the Registry in shape.

  Pros: Nothing perceivable.

  Cons: Could not try it because the interface window was to large for my screen.

  Pros: good interface, stable, very reliable! great features such as auto backup - you can always undo if required. low RAM use etc.... just get it!

  "BEST of having the most positive qualities anywhere FREE software.."

  Pros: BEST anywhere FREE software.. have used since 2003 in two computers.

  In one I was able to change background colors(mustard+brown)

  from the original gray. Now I can not recall how was done.

  DOES ANY ONE KNOWS HOW to Make the colors Changes???

  Pros: Fairly fast scan, good options, great error reporting, logging and backup. Cool error browsing capability by either file (to verify a missing file) or key (to see the actual key value).

  Cons: I use 1024x748 screen resolution but not this utility! Need 1280x1024 or higher to see bottom and right side of it. If using lower resolution, need at least one other program running (doesn't matter which one) so you can get back to your desktop.

  Summary: After being infected with a rootkit, deleting the files then manually deleting entries from the registry still left Windows unable to start - no desktop icons, no taskbar and couldn't get explorer task to run. RegScrubXP repaired it on 1st pass and... read more >>

  "installs with no problems, simple to use."

  Pros: Definitely a good utility for the those of us who don't undertand the Registry.

  Cons: One problem I encountered is that regsrub sets or resets something in the registry that prevents Adobe flash player from working.

  Summary: I love it's simplicity, but it's too aggressive. only way to get flash player back, is to uninstall it, and reinstall. Then don't run RegSrub again untill, either you figure out which box to uncheck, or they fix the bug.
