Publisher's Description
From Kenji Kojima:
This application was put together Kenji Kojima's art work studies. RGB MusicLab converts RGB (Red, Green and Blue) value of an image and surface points (X, Y, Z) of 3D object to chromatic scale sounds. The program reads RGB value of pixels from the top left to the bottom right of an image. One pixel makes a harmony of three note of RGB value, and the length of note is determined by brightness of the pixel. RGB value 120 or 121 is the middle C, and RGB value 122 or 123 is added a half steps of the scale that is C#. Pure black that is R=0, G=0, B=0 is no sounds. It is not an impression of a painting or a photograph of a musical variation. It is not an arbitrary process. It composes a score from an image directly. It is simple and clear algorithm, and does not have any hidden or mysterious tricks. Anybody can get a same result if he/she takes same processes.

"NOT Freeware"
Version: RGB MusicLab 37c
Pros
NOTE: This is NOT freeware. "Donation" REQUIRED or quits.
Cons
NOTE: This is NOT freeware. "Donation" REQUIRED or quits.
Summary
NOTE: This is NOT freeware. "Donation" REQUIRED or the application quits itself.
ALSO NOTE that the developer's website uses a 'plugin' called revWeb from an EXTREMELY fishy website that does not load its own home page. AVOID this plugin unless you have verification that it is not malware. -

"The Point"
Version: RGB MusicLab 10
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Some reviewers miss the point of this kind of software. If you want to make canned music, certainly get a Casio. Mona Lisa may be a poor example. The idea is (or could be) to investigate the translational perceptions among different senses. There are many software applications that do this, some being used professionally. Look into MetaSynth, for example. RGBM is not anything close to MetaSynth, but it's creative and...free. The developer should be encouraged to continue this work and make it available to those who appreciate the effort. -

Music should be fun and experimental!

Summary

I normally do not give feedback on software that I dislike as much as this one.
I am sorry but this is "Lame". That isn't music, it is a computer acting out midi sounds that are really bad.
