    Version: PasswordWallet 4.7.4

    Pros

I really like this application. I don't know why it isn't better known. It syncs passwords between devices and is easy to use. I've never had a problem with it. You can use it to enter username and passwords on web sites. It stores other info as well.

    Cons

    I don't know of any.

    Summary

I'm sticking with this application in spite of others getting all the fame.

IMO, this is one of the nicest password wallet applications which is able to sync with mobile devices. The developer is very responsive. The new sync with iPhone is great!

    "Great developer, solid product"

February 02, 2008   |   By Carpe Datum, Inc.

Version: PasswordWallet for OS X & iPhone 4.3.2

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
If you have an iPhone, this product rocks even more. I have over 350 passwords, accounts, serial #'s on my iPhone now - encrypted with 448 bits. Clearly Selznick is listening to users and keeping the product up to date. The ability to jump to a URL and fill in the username and password (via a floating pallet) is awesome. The password generator remembers all previous passwords and the generous notes field is perfect.

"Visibility bug fixed - ignore previous rating!"

    November 16, 2007   |   By monacoyachts

Version: PasswordWallet for OS X & iPhone 4.3.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
An excellent piece of software which I use all the time. There was a visibility bug with the latest version when it first came out but when I emailed the developer with the screenshot, he immediately identified the problem, fixed it and mailed me a new version. So, panic over, excellent customer support and very useful piece of software. I would normally give 4 stars for this, but it gets an extra star for the quick response to the problem and because I feel a bit guilty for pulling down the star average on my initial review, even though it was correct at the time.

    "Upgrade is unusable for me!"

    November 15, 2007   |   By monacoyachts

Version: PasswordWallet for OS X & iPhone 4.3.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I use PW all the time. Very handy software, like it a lot. Upgraded to 4.3. Next time I opened it my PW list went all black and unusable then my entries disappeared ! No idea if this is just my problem or not, but it's a warning to anyone thinking of upgrading â?¦

Got to give 4.3 only 1 star, but 4.2 gets 3.5 or 4 stars.

    "Great password keeper!"

    September 26, 2007   |   By znoborg

    Version: PasswordWallet 4.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Have been using PW for many years. Secure and functional. I was worried how I'm going to cope without it since I'm migrating from a palm clie to the iPhone. Well ... v4.1 has an elegant solution for the iPhone, and an export to an encrypted web page function. Very very useful! I highly recommend PW .... Reasonable in price and very secure keeper of any kind of data.

    "Remarkably Good--most capable automated login"

    February 02, 2007   |   By samplerx

    Version: PasswordWallet 4.0.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
    Remarkably good

Two features set Password Wallet 4.0.1 above a half-dozen other apps that I tried, including info.xhead and steel:
    1. the included Palm app
    2. the auto-login capabilities. I would have bought Password Wallet for the auto-login feature alone.

Others apps auto-type but work only in the simplest two-field setups, where the site places the focus in the login-id field and tabs automatically into the password field. Many sites don't do this. Some require two passwords or have the password and login-id on different pages.

PW 4.0.1 easily handles these complicated web sites because you can insert metacharacters for TAB, PAUSE-RESUME and RETURN keys into the login sequence.

You may need to experiment. For example, my wife and have two Verizon accounts and they need different sequences:
    1st: TAB login-id
PAUSE/RESUME password (Then push a GO Button)
    2nd: TAB login-id
    PAUSE/RESUME TAB password RETURN

For the Bank of America, the login-id and password are entered on separate pages and require:
    login-id RETURN
    PAUSE/RESUME password RETURN

But you don't need to set up these meta-character sequences if you don't wish. The program has buttons and shortcuts tocopy the login-id and password to the clipboard, so that you can past them in by hand.

I have minor quibbles. As mentioned below, editing in a separate window should probably be the default option. I'd like to see a separate Create Category screen; right now you can only create a new Category if you are editing an entry. Some of the buttons are small. I haven't had any need for support so my rating for that is speculative, But all-in-all this is an outstanding program.

    "Very Useful."

    December 23, 2006   |   By iGreg

    Version: PasswordWallet 4.0.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Finally looks like an OS X program. Clean, easy to use interface. The red colored numerical digits is very good, it is not hard to mistake some letters as numbers, this feature prevents that from happening.

Even with all the automatic password features in web browsers etc. you would think this kind of thing is not useful, but you be surprised how often the password fields get screwed up on websites. If you haven't visited a site in a really long time you may find you have to re-enter the user and password, and this program makes it easy to find it. You might be able to find info in Keychain, but Password Wallet is easier to use. Making new passwords is also easier. Even if your happy with the way Keychain works, having this as backup is useful.

"Great for initial purchase, not for upgrade"

    December 21, 2006   |   By thebroz

    Version: PasswordWallet 4.0.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
If you need a password manager, this is a very good one. Others fall short in terms of convenience. The auto type feature of PasswordWallet is very convenient. The simplicity of design is also a very good thing. It remains my password manager of choice.
That said, PasswordWallet has some deficiencies. Sorting, and categorizing is pretty good, but other apps do it better.
The fact that it's finally, finally, universal, is not that important. Version 4 doesn't launch any faster, or do anything else faster on my Intel Mac. Everything was already fast with the previous version.
The UI is better, but not that much better.
Each entry is still limited to title, url, user, password, category, browser, notes. What if I have a single machine to log into, but several logins? Multiple entries. Kinda inconvenient (kinda). SecretBook offers better flexibility here. So does Yojimbo, and some others.
So, I'd say this is a fine password manager. If you don't already own you'd like it. I just don't know if it's worth upgrading. I don't really see $15 worth of advances here.
