Truly, truly awful user experience
swim_for_it- Pros
- OK, you pay $65 for an annual subscription and then the login server times out. I've been using this service since 2001 and I have to say it's gotten steadily worse. Clearly Practice does not make perfect for Paltalk.
- Cons
- Can only log in once out of 10 attempts. No meaningful Mac support. Rooms load slowly, cams don't load at all.. what exactly does my money buy me here? Everybody on Paltalk agrees that it sucks, but guess what. They already have your money.
- Summary
- Don't waste your money. Seriously.
Hackers delight.
heathjsmith- Pros
- The voice rooms are reliable.
- Cons
- Paltalk has allowed security holes to develop over time. Voice chat room users are able to use "boot codes" to lock up the latest greatest Windows machines. I have also seen evidence that "hackers" (aka script kiddies) are able to gain your personal information from the Paltalk servers.
- Summary
- Despite having contacted Paltalk on several occasions about the security lapses they have never responded. Having spent 3 decades in the industry I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that your personal information can be compromised using this service.
Paltalk is the number-one voice, video, and text chat
ke4jcd- Pros
- There are hundreds of fully moderated voice, video, and text chat rooms; on hundreds of topics like christianity, politics, general topics, and X-rated adult chat rooms.
- Cons
- It requires a yearly subscription to remove the ads.
- Summary
- Next to Google+ Hangouts; Paltalk is the number-one voice, video, and text chat software available.
Looking for chat and cam conversations with others.
tlredd54- Pros
- Paltalk has a great way to allow people to chat and cam at the same time without being booted out by the system.
- Cons
- I don't like the little time they give you to see another chatter's cam before it closes the cam.
- Summary
- Great software, I will try it for a while with the free version but may not stay with paltalk very long.
YOU have to pay for best features
rainb52566- Pros
- has lots of services and features but
- Cons
- you have to pay when yahoo was free
- Summary
"AVOID AT ALL COSTS"
airbourneranger- Pros
- NONE whatsoever stay clear of.
- Cons
- Save your 65 bucks as it will cost you 4 times that to get your computer fixed.Total waste of time contacting them as they never reply. No matter which room you try the entire conversation can be summed up in one word... TUNE! Forget messaging anybody as all you will get is a box saying the user doesnt accept them.On the rare occasion an administrator does talk to you,its in a patronizing manner asking you to verify your age.
- Summary
- You have been warned save your money and do yourself a favour.
Whatever you are looking for on chat is here.
k4ebin- Pros
- Plenty of chat rooms ranging from politics, music, adult oriented, etc. Disruptive people who is only there to annoy people do get booted from rooms as compared to Yahoo. Ability to view cams without asking for permission as opposed to Yahoo.
- Cons
- Free version has ads in which some are infected with trojan horses and viruses. Paid version has no ads.
- Summary
- I read reviews where people complain about Paltalk on issues such as admins bouncing and banning folks. As long as you treat people with respect and have the ability to follow simple rules that are posted. If you gonna harass , pester or insult people then you might have trouble staying in most rooms unless it's a insult or drama chatroom. Chatrooms have owners who started the room or paid money to have a room that has a larger member capacity then allowed. The rules vary from chatroom to chatroom depending if its rated G, R, or Adult and its individual owner. Adult rooms has a warning that that they may contain content inappropriate for members under the age of 18 and prohibits members under 18 from entering. Some rooms seem stupid such as no underlines on text but if you don't like it you are free to start your own room in which you can make the rules as you please. Sometimes people and personalities clash as expected in chatrooms and they are warned to stop and take it to a private instant message. They usually are hardheaded and don't listen then they are bounced even though one or both parties may think they were in the right. The reason is most people come here to have fun and have a good time and didn't come there to be bothered with stupid drama from these people. They do have rooms specifically for people who like drama and conflict called drama rooms in which anything goes. Nicknames have different colors depending if its free (color black) or what level of paid subscription(blue, green, purple or yellow) it is. You can buy virtual gifts if you want to give to another if that is your thing. There's usually between 25 and 45 thousand members in paltalk and its various chat rooms at any giving time. I use to believe maybe it was only maybe 2 to 3 thousand members at any given time until i did an actual count and counted up to 36,000 members before i tired and gave up 75 percent though the count. From the numbers i counted Paltalk is especially huge overseas internationally. Overall it is a very good program.

Updated on Nov 11, 2012
Actually i counted 36,000 members halfway though before i tired and gave up so Paltalk number of 85,466 members in 5,105 room may be correct.

- Summary
- Great tool for online business.
Cesspit for nasty people.
timboathome2day- Pros
- Paltalk was a fun place to be once. Good at taking your money for silly gifts or colored nic's
- Cons
- Paltalk is a place for people to make life a living hell for others because the customer service is useless, unless you wish to spend money. They spy on you in private pm's that you think are private, they turn your cam on without your knowledge & they can assess your hard drive without you knowing. Some of the red admins are totally rude and if they dont know the answer to something or the question you ask is pointed at paltalk then they will red dot you. If a co-admin does not like you they will just remove you from the lobbys for no good reason, how UN-professional is that; if you have a paid nic then u have every right to be there. People steel your private information. Mr rufusjunior, your remark about "Eventually there will probably be some tragic crime committed" Too late, in a room somebody was feeling down so some of the users egged him on to hang himself on cam, so he did. So yes i think Cesspit is rather apt for Paltalk.
- Summary
- If you are a nasty person or you don't care about yourself or your privacy being taken, then paltalk is the place to be.
