Easily recovered all my files needed from my SD card and then some!
Cons
I had to wait a whole 2 minutes for my files to be recovered.
Summary
Once I installed on an xp pc and connected SD card that would not read there were only a few options like what drive and types of files needing restored to choose and PC Inspector Smart Recovery did an excellent job! I needed the last 60 pics and 4 vids taken and these files were restored first. The program continued to recover files back from several months and formats ago until I just stopped it.
Did try to install on win7 pc running as administrator and in compatibility mode no luck but this program works great I would absolutely pay for it.

Of the suite of recovery tools on a 2009 cover DVD this recovered the most files for me.
Many others didn't recover any.Cons
Not 100% intuitive. English is their second language.
A lot of configuring is needed to get a good result.Summary
That was in 2009, now I am updating (2012) and hope Convar will continue to have a good reputation from me.

1. Since its searching the entire memory card, took a while for it to finish (about more than an hour or so), but worth the wait since I desperately needed to recover the lost photos

got all my recorded phone conversations with my landlord over an illigal distress back after an sd card error, (sony xperia x8)

i forgot to increase the file size ,lol, so they ended up in small bits, so i had to do it again, other thing is it takes a while, but well worth it?

I was getting a 'format your card' error on my camera, tried to read the card on lots of different devices and eventually went to a photo processor to try and get the files recovered. They gave my card back saying they could see the files but they were empty. I went out and bought an sd card reader, downloaded the software, formatted the card (on advice from others) and gave it a go. I initially got the cannot run error, but then I tried the right click/run as administrator, and bingo, the program ran and all my photos magically appeared.

Every other program either wanted lots of $$ or could not read the card. 'Smart Recovery' found every image flawlessly.

Absolutely nothing bad to say!!!
Summary
After hours of frustration, I went to cnet downloads and looked for new programs. I found this by accident. WOW...so smooth. As I loaded my SD card, a pop up told me how bad the files were, so 'Smart Recovery' would go into advanced mode. Twenty minutes later I had all 274 full resolution images on my Desktop, not one lost. HOORAY!

Very straightforward to use and saves the files immediately to your hard drive (as opposed to other programs which have you spend hours scanning the media only to demand you upgrade by spending $$ to actually SAVE them).
Cons
Appeared to recover the videos, but they only play about the first 10 seconds. A video file becoming corrupted after being copied is what started this mess so I'd hoped to be able to recover the original uncorrupted version of it, but to no avail.
Summary
Good product, would definitely recommend it to others!

Did not load correctly. I had the same error as others "run time error 339 component 'gif89.dll' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered a file is missing or invalid"

i'm simply impressed! this recovered my pictures twice, from a 2 different memory cards... first one was infected with virus.. 2nd one, files were corrupted. recovered 95% of all my files. this program is amazing. best of all, it's FREE!!!

Pros
I tried 5 other 'recovery' programs that failed to even identify corrupted files on my uSD card. This program fortunately managed to recover most of them - the best so far. Great UI too.
Cons
Takes about 1 hour per GB of scanning on my uSD. It wasn't able to recover some of my corrupted JPGs, but still better than any other program I've tried.
