CNET Editors' review
Mac users have many choices when it comes to note-taking apps, and MacNote3 is a solid choice for anyone wanting one with good search capabilities and AppleScript integration (especially if you're a fan of the venerable built-in Notepad app of yore).
MacNote3 is a heavy-duty version of the original MacNote, with a good balance between simplicity and power. In addition to basic formatting and editing controls, MacNote3 lets you use links that can launch anything from URLs and files to messages in Mail, which makes this app perfect for to-do lists. You can also search for strings across multiple notes, and you can incorporate AppleScripts, too. The developers have some good suggestions for this, including the ability to automatically generate e-mails from templates.
You can see MacNote3's old-school roots in its bare-bones interface, but not always in a good way--and it can take some time for novice users to plumb the depths of this app's capabilities. For anyone who has specific needs, though, especially around scripting or search, MacNote3 can be a good value. This shareware app comes with a 30-day trial.
Publisher's Description
From SYW Mac Software:
MacNote3 retains all of the features of MacNote, while offering a wide range of more sophisticated features in addition. These include facilities for the selection of multiple pages and the exportation of images. It still has the familiar interface, and very quickly responds to commands. MacNote3 is similar to Notepad, or Scrapbook (these are applications familiar to users of Mac OS9), and so is easy to use. Also, via AppleScript - or by means of regular expressions - it allows the user to edit text.

"Excellent app ... Look closely before buying elsewhere"
Version: MacNote3 2.7
Pros
I have tried as many 'Note" software as I could find. Constantly looking for newer ideas. MacNote 3
should do everything you need. I access my notes there sometimes 5 or 10 times a day because all my storage note info is there.
Purchase info on products like my TV, computers, car radio, address lists by type, birthday list, list of the 115 Mexican restaurants in town. Lists appear sorted by similar 'things' Full text formatting really helps... even though it is not yet widely accepted on mobile devices.
It takes 3 or 4 hours to get all the usage features down but is so well worth that time.Cons
It did load slow... it is now blazing fast.
Summary
Just try it for 3 days and plan to fill it with all sorts of 'get at quick' stuff!
