LockHunter is a free tool to delete files blocked by applications. LockHunter is useful for fighting against malware, and other programs that are blocking files without a reason. Unlike other similar tools it deletes files into the Recycle Bin so you may restore them if deleted by mistake.
LockHunter detects and displays the processes locking files or folders. It allows users to unlock, delete, copy, or rename locked files. It allows users to kill locking process and remove locking processes from their hard drives. LockHunter also integrates into the Windows Explorer menu.
What's new in this version:
Command line support
Now it's possible to call such LockHunter's actions as 'Unlock', 'delete file' and etc from the command line. Very useful for using in your scripts or to integrate to other programs.
Copy & rename actions added
Now you can not only delete a stubborn file but unlock and copy or rename it in one action.

"Does exactly what I wanted it to very quickly"

Pros
* Installation quick and painless
* It's free
* It doesn't appear to have any unwanted malware or pop-up's (so long as you do the "Advanced User" and override their coupon toolbar they try to install)
* It quickly finds what processes are locking files or folders and gives some very helpful, intuitive options of what to do, including deleting the files, or what I wanted, which was to unlock the file by closing associated processesCons
* Not sure whether or not to call it a "con," but when I told it to end a system process, it wouldn't do it because of that, so I had to go do it manually. But hey, at least it told me which confounded process was locking the folder so I could actually do that, after which I went and moved the folder as I was trying unsuccessfully to do until I downloaded this software
Summary
Bottom line, if like me you get really frustrated when trying to move or delete a file or folder because Windows says it's in use, but you have no open programs and can't figure which cotton-pickin' process is locking it up, then get this little gem and the Heavens will open up and angels will sing!
