Summary
All programs need time to get the best out of them for the individual user. With Kingsoft Office, I could send letters immediately - and I am not that computer savvy. Definitely recommend it!

This software is what office 2007 should have been. It's the familiar 2003 style interface and Office 2007 capabilities and it's free.

If you hate the stupid ribbon in Office 2007/2010 and are a general user who doesn't need the most advanced features of MS Office this will do admirably. I just wish they'd write an Outlook equivalent!

It is useful for students, families for home use, small start-up businesses because it is free and is a familiar format, making it easy to use.

It is not Microsoft Office, that alone makes it a con for some people.

Pros
So far I've only used the writer and I love it. Has everything Works has except the headaches I've experienced with Works lately. I had tried another office replacement but it took forever to load. I don't have that problem with Kingsoft Office.
Cons
So far I haven't found anything to complain about.

- No envelope printing option in Writer. This is quite a necessary feature of Micro$oft Office for many of us.Summary
I have limited experience with Kingsoft Office; however, I have had MUCH experience dealing with Cnet's new partner in spam: Toparcadehits.com, which, has nothing to do with arcades or hits, just messing with your computer! This is the reason for a one-star rating; Kingsoft might reconsider Cnet as a source of clients. I have spent hours trying to clean it out of my computer. Now Meghan Kelly, an apologist for this crowd, says not to get worked up over it; our problem is trying to keep unnecessary apps such as Toparcadehits off of our machines. Many of us pride ourselves with keeping as clean a system as possible. (OK, so it IS nearly impossible...but Cnet is certainly not helping!) Note that most of the mainstream virus/malware tracking/detection/removal companies define Toparcadehits as malware and/or Trojan...pretty serious stuff!
Cnet/download.com installer includes Toparcadehits malware, or "nuisanceware". It installs itself with no action by, or warning to, the user. It opens new Firefox windows (not tabs, eating memory) with practically all sites visited, advertising various products and services. Most of us have NO, repeat NO, desire for this. It is a great waste of our time to close each window. It installs as an extension to Firefox, and can be deactivated, not removed, from the Firefox extension listing. Adblock Plus has no control over it. Malwarebytes and other adware and spam-detection software do not recognize it; thus no automated removal. Removal is quite nearly impossible - their uninstaller does not work. Many users have uninstalled Firefox, cleaned up all mention of both Firefox and Toparcadehits in the registry, reinstalled Firefox, and still the app persists, albeit in a deactivated state.
I, and a great many of my friends and associates, will cease using Cnet as a source of downloads until they decide to get out of this spam business. -

The biggest problem for me is that there is no mailings. I am unable to do labels or envelopes, which is a big part of my needs for an office suite
