"U get what u pay for. Only one download."
Version: Home Plan Pro 4.5
Pros
inexpensive
Cons
Clumsy. Difficult to change (re-size, move...) elements once drawn; easier to delete (the element) and start over; but there have been times I've had to start the whole drawing over. Can change, re-size etc, but very imprecise. My new company uses this, so I had to purchase after the trial. I have MS Visio2003 from a previous business, and plan on using it instead, (once I'm w/ the company longer; customers only see the pdf anyway.) For regular use, I would recommend spending more $ for a "professional" program, rather than a "hobbyist" program. I know it's more money, but Visio has a huge library of pre-drawn elements, and is much easier to learn and use, (Microsoft-looking toolbar,) vs HPP.
Summary
I hadn't used Visio in a few years, but just to compare, I did a better drawing in less than half the time; it was easy to recall the more-intuitive Visio drawing techniques even after not having used it for a while. Visio is not just for Home plans; has many other architectural/building and "business process" capabilities (mapping, graphs and charts, process flow diagrams etc.) Sorry didnt mean to make it a commercial for Visio.

"Okay, but has inaccuracy -- needs bug fixes"
Version: Home Plan Pro 5.2.25.2
Pros
Cheap
Many features
Quick response from feedbackCons
Inaccuracy
Bug reports sent to company, but no fixes forthcomingSummary
Version as of May 25 will randomly draw some objects with incorrect dimensions at certain zoom levels. Eg. A polygon of 2" width will become 1.75". The object size becomes inaccurate at the zoom level and it will cause in-line objects to become adjacent objects (appearing as thick lines). This propagates over to the print output, so it can start to become really messy. The software developer's solution is to move the objects around and resize them when changing zoom levels to adjust for the error the software has in drawing! When you draw to objects in CAD you need them to a) remain the same dimensions and in the same position (x,y) regardless of zoom level. This software cannot accomplish that and clearly demonstrated the error to the developer -- they have no bug fix.
BTW, I would rather pay the developer another $20 per license to have the two mentioned bugs fixed in this software. If those bugs were eliminated it seems that the overall package would get 5*. I have used all the main features extensively during the past few weeks and cannot find any further problem besides the two major ones reported on earlier. Many people will not be able to cope with those errors, but perhaps if you are using the software for non detailed layout (to 1/4" accuracy) then the software may be suitable for you. Keep in mind that the 1/4" error in drawing I found can be repetitive and amount to a couple of inches across your page.
Another problem is that when some objects are re-sized by dragging their property values are not updated automatically with the new dimension values. The old dimension values stay in the properties. Any further changes to attributes in properties will result in the object being resized to the original size (the dimension values remaining in properties). The developer is unable to fix this bug, so you may be frustrated finding some of your objects getting re-sized unintentionally.
The software has many features and is offered at a good price. Sometimes low cost software has significant problems that either a) you need to try and deal with, or b) makes it impractical to use. CAD software should produce accurate results, but I found this product does not. If you need accuracy as mentioned earlier you may need to use AutoCAD lite or A9CAD or something else.

"Easy to use"
Version: Home Plan Pro 5.2.24.3
Pros
install and uninstall work well. Easy learning curve, easy to explore options and locate additions, good explanation of next step for doors, overall for $40 definitely has it's value
Cons
Icons could be larger graphics aren't much but that's alright. Biggest cons are 2 things: 1. no grid background 2. printing is not what you see on your screen, print and adjust, print and adjust this becomes a P.I.T.A.
Summary
Good overall but the cons especially the printing make it less than 5 star

"Can't really evaluate"
Version: Home Plan Pro 5.2.23.11
Pros
I've had the program before and it works well and is easy to use
Cons
This demo is unusable, features like undo are blocked. You can't just remove one wall it removes all the walls and you have to start over especially if you can't undo..
Summary
Simply how can you test a product if all the functions you need to try are not available. Buying it is the only option and then if it doesn't meet your expectations then you are out of luck and wasted your money. That is what a demo is suppose to eliminate. Bottom line don't waste your download time.

"Trial over"
Version: Home Plan Pro 4.5
Cons
I installed this program but when I tried to use it I couldn't because it said my trial ended over 3000 days ago... so hopefully other people have better luck than me with it!

"won't run"
Version: Home Plan Pro 4.5
Cons
The software installed properly from what I could tell. It just told me that I did the install back in 1899. Therefor it wouldn't run as the 30 day eval was over some 39000 days ago.
