Capture anything on your PC screen and draw annotation objects.
A powerful, lightweight, yet full-featured screen capture tool that allows you to easily capture and annotate anything on the screen including windows, objects, menus, full screen, rectangular/freehand regions and even scrolling windows/web pages. It also allows you to record screen activities, sound and webcam into MP4 video files.

Summary
Works perfectly with FireFox for me

Pros
Have been using FastStone Capture for 5+ years and it never failed to make me happy. I use FireFox (default browser 90%), IE (5%) and Chrome(5%). It did a great job capturing web pages for me. The built-in screen recorder helps a lot when I need to show my parents how to use Windows. Everything is included in the $19.95 license. Incredible!!!
Cons
Still hope it will support tabs in the editor some day.
Summary
Has never worked right in Firefox.

The more I use it, the more I love it
pdmccabe
Pros
Multiple capture methods
Scrolling page capture
Lots of edit features once something is captured
Cons
Can only capture one thing (unlike capture software like Greenshot which allows you to capture many things then work on, discard, or save captured images).
Haven't figured out how to use hot keys because they interfere with other program hot keys.
Summary
I program web surveys, work on web sites, and do a fair amount of graphics related work. Capture is now one of my top five most used programs. It's scrolling feature allows me to capture things that fall outside of the screen (very rare but needed feature in this type of program). It has a free-form capture ability that saves me a lot of editing time, it works VERY well, it's intuitive, and I just can't say enough good things about it. I rarely rate software and I love getting free software but this software is only free to try and costs $20 - so be mindful of that. It's the best screenshot program out there in my book (and I'm a very heavy user). If you need nice but only OK software, try Greenshot - which is free - and FAR better than using the Windows PrtScr screen shot feature.
Does everything I want it for.

Pros
A screen capture with editor that does everything I want (capture region, annotate with arrows, lines, shapes or text with choice of size, colour, font, etc.) with no superfluous features that I don't want, and no annoyances. Opening the program puts a floating toolbar on the screen, you can position it where you want. On this if I select Region there is immediately a hair cross on my screen that I can drag about to make my selection. On completion of the capture, it opens immediately on the Editor. When you are finished there is no tray icon to close, you simply close the floating toolbar.
Cons
I can not fault it other than the fact that it is now payware. If you do a search you will find the last free version, which is what I am using.
Summary
Highly recommended. In my search for the best program for my needs I looked at and tried a number of similar ones. Discarding the ones with no editors or the ones that link to an external editor, many of the built in editors are too limited in options, while some are too complex. Then there are a few that require .Net Framework 4 which I refuse to install because, I once found, it slows my computer down dreadfully. I am so glad I turned to FastStone Capture as it is absolutely perfect for me.
Very Useful
Pros
The program is very flexible. It offers multiple ways to determine what gets captured as an image. I have been using the program with several computers.
Cons
Not available for Linux.
Summary
Great screen capture program. Make it available for Linux.
