  Pros

  Works as advertised, indispensable for my disc labeling purposes.

  Cons

  Despite improvements to the program, I find I must still burn twice to get the image satisfactorily dark. Might be better if the discs were not the "dirty yellow" color that they are but a lighter color that affords more contrast with the printing, but that's an issue for the disc manufacturer to remedy, not LightScribe.

  Summary

  Good tool, the best I've found for the job.

  Pros

  It's free first of all. I did try another free Lightscribe app, and it was very limited. This one does just about all you might want.

  Cons

  Perhaps a few more templates? Frankly, it's hard to pick on this app.

  Summary

  If you were looking for the software that should have been included with your Lightscribe drive, you need look no further.

  It is fun to use Easy to use, Simple designs print fairly quickly Your CD/DVDs are instantly recognizable as yours

  Complicated designs take almost a half hour to print There is no simple way to make a unique template Limited to the templates unless you have software to create custom jpgs, like Photoshop

  Summary

  It would be nice if the creators of LightScribe created a utility that allows text boxes that could be adjusted. I don't know how many times I have selected a template, then decided that I couldn't use it because the text box wasn't the right size

• Works with cnet's HP simple labeler and LS software

  Pros

  Downloaded all 3 LS software components from Cnet and HP. Installed them and downloaded my choice of label templates for burning. Have burned 1 label and it wasn't the simplest or hardest. It took about 35 minutes to burn on my cheap 222al Samsung burner and turned out the way it should.

  Cons

  All 4 software components should be one program?

  Summary

  After burning 1 label can't complain. There were mixed reviews on Samsung 222al so I was surprised everything worled.

  Pros

  it was easy to use, and understand, this was my first time using light scribed tech and it was nice. this was simple to use and did a great job. there was also more designs to add on, great addition.

  Cons

  not really set up if you just want to write on it without graphics or pictures and such. i wanted to print just information and none of the templates let me add everything i wanted.

  Summary

  overall i like it, it is nice for making custom disc and adding style but if your wanting to put detailed information on the disc you'll need something else to set it up?

  Pros

  this product was not like the fake one i was downloading it just takes your picture you choose and you could just add your txt really simply right in a snap adjust the picture size. and if you have the light scribe machine it just records right away

  there is actuallly not anything bad about this soft ware for me i aam the picy one so i don't give scores that much look at here full score

  what I did was I got my componie's logo and put it on the disk simply and turend it in ti my boss and you can do that too just add the image and/or text and just record it on to the disk which was really easy. just download this program for windows 98~7 mabye mac and make your life easier without printing

  Pros

  Template Labeler alows the label functions of an enabled drive. It does what it is supposed to and lets the user add text (curved only) and images. From the Template Labeler, you may go from start to finish in a short period of time.

  Cons

  Curved only text feature. wysiwyg would be nice during the edit.

  Summary

  It would be nice to have an interface that pulls tracks, album name and artist from a disk or database automatically. I was surprised at the lack of freeware and support for lightscribe. It would be nice if one could use it as a "printer" as in device. An interface that looked and felt a little more like a word processor combined with a graphics editor would be a good start. I felt that since I paid extra for a LightScribe device and of course extra for the media, I'd have a pretty good free LightScribe software solution out there. This does the trick but for users that don't have photoshop, I wonder at the lack of options for them. As is, I made my own template in photoshop and use this to print from. I omit text in the template labeler and just insert my image.

  I have been able to develop My Own Custom Templates!!!!!

  Can not expand Items on the fly.

  I used output LSL Files (XML Files) to springboard my development of Custom LST Files (XML Files). I have learned a lot about the limited XML used and found 6 FREE programs which I use to develop new templates. XML Notepad 2007, Notepad++, Paint.NET, Inkscape LS Template Labeler itself, &#38; Widows Live. I've also developed Right-click Directory Command &#38; Images. I write Newsletters with TIPS &#38; share what I develop.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Feb 21, 2010<p/>The use of the Right-click Directory Commands &#38; some of My Custom Templates allows me to make CD/DVD Track Lists. I also publish this procedure &#38; "Mini-Catalog" Previews of a lot of what I do.
