This heavy-duty partition tool isn't for novices or the faint of heart, but experienced users will find this tool invaluable. This ISO file is a suite of applications you burn to disk and use to boot your system. The program uses a mixture of command line menus and GUI-based applications. At boot, you choose from a selection of options to run GParted or boot from other partitions. You may need to choose one of the special options depending on your hardware. "Didn't work for me either"
Version: GParted LiveCD 0.15.0-1
Pros
Free. Reputedly very powerful and easy to use (I can't tell).
Cons
I followed the instructions very carefully, twice. The resulting .iso image CDs would not boot on any of my 4 computers. I have had no trouble with bootable .iso CDs in the past which strongly suggests this software is the problem. To those who insist that the software is not at fault, Google it and look at how many people out there are reporting the same problem.
Summary
By all means try it, but use a CD-RW. That way you won't waste a CD-R if it doesn't work. Good luck.
