Publisher's description
From SlavaSoft :Free command line utility for file multi-checksum generation and verification. Most common use: checking files for corruption. A hash/checksum calculation might be performed on data before transferring(downloading/uploading) it from one location to another. Making the same calculation after the transfer (download/upload) and comparing the former and latter results, you can check if the received data is corrupted or not.
Fsum allows to create/verify most popular file hashes (message digests) and checksums: MD2, MD4, MD5, SHA-1, SHA-2 (256,384,512), RIPEMD-160, PANAMA, TIGER, CRC-32, and the hash used in eDonkey (ed2k)/eMule tools; Very fast and easy to use. Recurses directories, works with large size files, supports .MD5 and .SFV file formats (automatically recognizes the format when verifying). Checks the integrity of data files notifying about any bad, incorrect or missing file. Compatible with: md5sum, MD5Summer, Easy SFV/MD5 Creator, SFV Checker/Verifier, WinSFV, Win CRC32. Version 2.52 fixes minor bugs.

Version: Fsum 2.52
"Have had it but never knew how to use it."
Pros: I have had Fsum on my PC for years now; but, I've never taken the time to find out what it's supposed to do. So; my review is rather useless.
Cons: As with other software; it is beyond my mental capacity to understand many of their functions, how they process and what other programs they associate with. I am 57 years old retired living on disability and realizing why my parents never took their new VCR out of the box when we gave it to them. Past 50, one seems to tire of learning new complicated applications.
