From Flobo Recovery:
Includes various tools: bad sector repair tool, test speed, S.M.A.R.T. information, surface test, check media stability and controller test. Is the hard disk drive monitoring and failure prediction and repairing software for repair and testing. It uses S.M.A.R.T. technology to monitor the health status of hard disk drives, prevents data loss and predicts possible drive fail. This application include HDDBadSectorRepair.
What's new in this version:
Version 4.1 adds hard disk temperature information.
It can scan a working disk for errors (yawn). Doesn't seem to be able to do much else other than fry chips.
It DESTROYS Hard disks with anything other than what it expects; I had a WD250Gb Drive, some disk backups, some old (good movies), music, that sort of thing. One day, the sliding table that supported my keyboard (desktop) decided to give way, and the keyboard made it all the way down to - you guessed it, the top of the drive - which was in a USB Caddy. Still the shock did enough damage (as it was in use) that you could hear the drive struggling to start. I already had a copy of File Scavenger, which I would recomend to anyone by the way, but I thought I'd look for something specifically to deal with damaged sectors as clearly, there was a head crash at least to some exxtent. - None the less, the drive was still able to start and respond via USB, and one could copy most of the data, the directory structure was intact, just physical damage in certain places. **** Along comes Flobo's lobotomy App. At first it didn't see the drive but eventually did, so I did a passive scan. It hung..
Having had to reboot the entire PC, hard drive and all, it has rendered the drive totally unreadable. Your can't even make or delete a partition under Dos's old FDisk. The main Chip on the Drive was red hot whilst it was doing whatever it was trying to do - and now if you plug it into a new laptop you get 'installing new hardware &4#&%#@><<?????'. Get the idea? You cant even get to it with an old Diskedit program, it is totally unusable.
*** Well I guess that's what you might expect from a supposed disk utility that sounds a bit like a lobotomy but I would stay well away from this unless your are sure your hardware is 100 %.

My 250Gb Western Dig HD which Was still able to show a directory structure, files within and copy a fair few of them (obviously some got stuck - hence the need for a bad sector remap or skip program) but this has Literally Destroyed the Hard drive. It hung again and again and cooked the main chip on the HD.
Conclusion:- 'I wouldn't let it within a Number 9 bus ride of your system if you care about your hardware!'
First time, I hab buy from this user Flobo CHK Identifier and for me fixed my problem at that moment, even the design in not so comercial. Now, I just used FLobo Hard Fisk Repair trying to repair bad sectors of my hard disk and I was impressed by the result. Thank you for this product!
Small program, installed instantly and started instantly.
It took almost 3 hours of some sort of scanning activity on a 160 GB drive and then said, "This version can scan not more than 20% of the drive. For full scanning buy the product.". Its wilful harrasment and CNET must take note of such frauds.
