• Use own risk, only v10 available, bogus reviews!

  Pros

  + feature laden (if you can get them to work reliably) + OEM with many products (one version is Asus TotalRecovery) + lean front end

  Cons

  - orchestrated effort by a few users to boost user ratings on cnet, Amazon, et al! - very poor service, forced to open tickets for any problem and days before response - reports of product install actually corrupting drive MBR! - licenses prior to v10 (as of Nov 2015) bundled as OEM are only usable with OEM media, no access to prior release from company website

  Summary

  Not sure what to make of the widespread "reviews" that are often very short and by people who have reviewed nothing but products from this company! There are numerous reviewers who have installed Farstone recovery and backup products and had disastrous results, the company has not responded (as many do when that happens) to the posts in forums where that is possible. This software has lots of features, is bundled with a number of products, but based on my initial experience and reviews from those with broad experience (not just reviewing one company's products) I would urge extreme caution and insure you have another method of backup in addition to this software!

• Rapid Restore is super fast

  Pros

  I like its new features in version 10. Rapid restore is not so fast as snapshot. But it is different technology and can be used in different machines.

  Cons

  It takes some time to get used to the user interface. However, once you get used to it, then it is not a problem.

  Summary

  I would like to suggest my friend to buy it. But sometimes its discount vary significantly on its official website. So, we need to wait some time for cheap prices.

  Pros

  I've been lost my life photos in my disc, those are very precious for me. After I use one-click backup solution, really don't worry I lost them again.

  Cons

  It can't backup my cloud disk. But I won't put important files on web disk.

• TotalRecovery 9 is stable and farstone support is great

  Pros

  I has been a while waiting FarStone to release the new version of TotalRecovery 9. This new version has added a few new features, such as differential backup, very powerful disk &#38; ssd cloning, smart backup, one-click backup &#38; restore, and so on. I think the most important improvements for FarStone are 2 folds. Stability: They product runs flawless Support: They got new support staff, doing good job.

  maybe online backup portion. I heard they are working on this.

• Successful backup... 0 bytes written!?!

  After spending 2 hours writing a complete PC backup to a network share I discovered it had created 12 files with a total size of.... 0 bytes. Somehow I don't think I would be able to restore my PC with that backup.. Wouldn't be so bad if it actually notified you that something had gone wrong but it didn't, it simply announced that the backup had completed successfully. Don't think I could ever trust this program now, even if it did actually write some data...

• Extremely frustrating and confusing

  In theory, it's a one click backup in restore. But in practice, that's is far from the whole story.

  I found this product lacking in so many ways. In February, I purchased TotalRecovery Tools, made lots of backups, and to my dismay, I found there's no way to restore these backups with the software I bought. The restore function is absent entirely from the user interface. I tried to contact customer service for help or a refund, but they never replied at all. Now, 6 months later, I decided to try again with Total Recovery Pro. It seems to have all the functions, but the subtleties are not explained well in the documentation, which seems to written by a non-native English speaker. There are many sentences which just don't make sense at all. Once I finally go to the point of doing a restore, low and behold, my 6 month old version of the TRT produced files that don't work with TRP! By luck (not by documentation) I found old recovery disk images that are downloadable. If I had known about these first, I could have save the purchase price of Total Recovery Pro.

  Summary

  All in all, this was very frustrating. Poor documentation, poor customer support, and it doesn't preserve the backup format between releases.
