Dr.Fone by Wondershare is a superb application that makes retrieving missing data a breeze. Anyone can use this program because of its attractive and intuitive, step-by-step guide. Dr.Fone's free trial performance is outstanding, but like all free software, there are the occasional hiccups.

Pros

Great support: Wondershare Dr.Fone provides excellent directions for making the most of the software, including rooting your phone and managing debugging tools. Web site support is clear-cut and easy to follow.

Excellent operation: Although this application took approximately one hour and 20 minutes to retrieve all of our data, it performed better than expected. Thousands of photos, dozens of videos, and hundreds of text messages were found after being previously deleted.

Cons

Misleading, slow setup: The installation wizard encouraged us to download two additional programs but made them out to be part of Wondershare Dr.Fone. We found this to be troublesome, and it complicated the installation process.

Unsupported devices: We originally used an HTC One m8 for our tests, but this device was not recognizable, causing us to test a different device instead. The HTC One m8 is new, so we understand the lack of support, but this is a sign that Dr.Fone is not updated often.

Bottom Line

Wondershare Dr.Fone lives up to its promise and cannot be any easier to understand and operate. The free trial is very powerful and should handle any general issues you may have, but the paid version is still best for those that need to do large recoveries. Download and use Dr.Fone if you need to recover any lost data on your Android phone; and if your device is not supported, we recommend looking into similar applications that may be more up to date.

It seems to work finding deleted videos, though, of course you have to pay for it.

Used REVO Uninstaller Pro to uninstalle it, since after installation I found my laptop started behaving weird, now every single start up I receive an error message from wondershare, although I have uninstalled, cleaned the machine with CCleaner, then ran a full defrag with smart defrag, full AVAST and Malwarebytes scan, and nothing. I have deleted aprox 40 registry keys, and I still can get rid of it.

Didn't HTC One M8 on Android 6.0 on Verizon Nobody else's product worked either.

Didnt work, on new Android 6.0, It wasn't able to get 'SuperUser' to get to my data to restore it, but they were prompt to respond repeatedly and in the end issued me a full refund, and I expect they'll get Android 6.0 covered in a new release. None of the other data recovery were able to either that I tried. All of them want me to ROOT my phone 1st, and it is my company phone , so making it a brick if the rooting goes sideways is not an option. My HTC One M8 requested upgrade to Android 6.0, I didnt do a backup 1st -my bad- lost some contacts, my boss, my mom, my wife, hmmm...

Hey dude / dudette that thinks the world just ended. All may not be lost. I came on this site desperate. I was wary of all the 5-star reviews and wondered how many were paid reviews but I had few options left. My iPhone 6 had a catastrophic OS failure and refused to boot (black screen of death I called it). My only option via Apple was a factory restore but that meant losing everything. I tried phone support - I went to the Genius Bar - no help. Then in a final Hail Mary act of desperation I tried Dr Fone. It was touch-and-go for sure. I had to "Fix i/OS" twice (first time it failed) but the darn phone booted and I was able to back up all my data (twice in two places). This really saved my butt. So give it a shot. It was $100 Canadian but it saved priceless data. Thanks to Dr. Fone I learned the importance of backups without the heartbreak of data loss.

After installing Wonder Share Dr.Fone for android, during the recovery process its restarted my Galaxy GT-I9506 many time and now I have black screen with errors Unfortunately, (various apps) has stopped OK. And there is no support on website or no contact details for local support.

Deceitful. Wastes all your time looking for data but is then unable to recover it. Program suddenly stops working at random moments, even when the (worthless) scan is at 99 percent done.

I just deleted a bunch of photos from my phone, mistakenly believing they had been saved to my computer. Tried to use this software to recover them. Doesn't find a single one although it does find a small random assortment of photos deleted from my phone over the past few months? doesn't effectively do the exact thing it says it does.
