In a world where almost everything is online, from e-mail to credit cards, social networking to car insurance, keeping passwords both secure and manageable is no easy task. Security experts recommend that you not use the same password for everything, and that you incorporate a mix of letters, numbers, and punctuation. Who can remember so many different nonsensical passwords? Fortunately, there's Efficient Password Manager, a simple and effective way to keep track of passwords for just about everything.

The program's interface is plain and intuitive, reminding us a bit of Microsoft Outlook. There are separate sections in which users can enter basic passwords, as well as software registration codes and log-in information for e-mail and FTP accounts. A separate area allows users to enter the URLs of their favorite Web sites and accompanying log-in information. Although the program doesn't actually log users in automatically, right-clicking on any items allows users to easily copy their username and password, which can then be pasted into the desired location. The program also includes a customizable password generator that lets users specify the desired length and character types of the password. Overall, we found that Efficient Password Manager lived up to its name; it's nothing fancy, but it is any easy and attractive way to keep passwords safe and handy. The program's built-in Help file was obviously not written by a native English-speaker, but it's easy enough to understand.

Efficient Password Manager is free. The program installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.

Encryption Please???

Free....but so is cancer.

Doesn't say here, or on their website, what type of encryption this thing has, if any.
Summary
You might as well just write down your passwords instead of using this - it would be safer. With no information on any type of encryption, your passwords can be stolen by most trojans or most malware.

For now I have nothing to say about this software since I have not had a chance to use it.

BUYER BEWARE - Even if you uncheck the boxes to prevent the download of additional software, in addition to NOT agreeing to have your homepage changed, it happens anyway. I am VERY meticulous and actually read everything before I click on "yes" to anything. Despite doing this, all the software I did not wish to be downloaded was downloaded. The software INTERFERRED with the functioning of my computer and many of the other items this software tried to download were blocked by my malware software, indicating it was coming from malicious sites. I was able to uninstall all this ridiculous software I did NOT want, but that is a step I should not have had to take. All of this nonsense really makes me wonder how reliable the efficient password manager really is. This other software is certainly not reputable.
Summary
Buyer beware, this software may not be what CNET proclaims it to be.

Pros
Nice looks - it seems as if you can keep both your computer files and your internet passwords safe and secure. Which I'm really after the pass word thing.

I'll be the first one to tell you, I am a older, computer idiot. I couldn't figure how to get the blasted thing to work. So I got rid of it.

Nice looks - I just wish people would realize that not every person has a computer degree, and that using their offered product might be better recieved if some directions for beginners went along with it.

I like everything about this tool. Its easy to use, can be set up for multiple users on one computer, customizable folders for differant sites, thumb-drive portibility, this is a must have tool!
Cons
So far, I cant find anything about it that I dont like!
Summary
I have several sites that I visit that I have to log in to. The problem was that some of these sites I visit only a few times a year. Remebering my user id and passwords for these sites normaly ended up with me clicking the "forgot password / user id? button. Not any more! One of the feartures I really like is the comment section for each password stored in this tool. In addition to saving my id, password, to a website, Im also able to add the security questions and answers to that file in the comment section. This is the best tool I have ever download from here todate!

This program is very thorough. It is more than a password manager. It will manage all of your favorite websites. Too many features to mention. You simply must download this program and check it out!

Fabulous manager it was worth the download. Absolutely no cons!

You can print reports. You can keep your passwords hidden or shown at the click of a button. And it even has a password generator. So many features to this program. Absolutely worth the download!
