• Had a problem on 2nd use

  Pros

  It appeared to find junk that other similar apps have missed, and it found some unneccessary startup entries.

  Cons

  The installation added two shortcuts to my desktop, one for Winoptimizer and one for One-Click something or other. Why couldn't they be accessible from one shortcut and one UI? Anyway, they seemed to do different things so I let them be. But the next time I tried to use the one-click thingy a big splash screen advertising Ashampoo Burning Studio 18 opened. I presume this was on top of the app but I'll never know because it was far too big for my 10.1 inch netbook screen and there was absolutely no way I could shrink it,hide it or turn it off. Nothing showed on Ctrl-Alt-Del and my only option was to do a Restart. The next thing I did was to uninstall the software, partly because of the above annoyance and partly because although it seemed to have found some junk and optimized the machine I can't say I noticed any improvement in its performance. If in doubt leave it out, is my motto.

  ADVERTISED as FREE yet behaved as trial version. CLAIMS; WinOptimizer more UNOptimizer Name should be changed to WinCrasher

  A person or company is ONLY as good as their word. SO, if they will lie about ONE thing they will lie about ANYTHING! That eaves me wondering just WHAT damage, spy-ware or virus have they left in my system? ABSOLUTELY cannot understand how CNET could rate these so height!! Reviews must now be bought off :(

  Summary

  I have been using Advanced system care AND glary utilities for several years. I run ASC first then when its done I run Glary just to make sure everything is taken care of. I wanted to see if something better was out there. This found a bunch of problems and found 2gb worth of un-needed files. UNFORTUNATELY Advanced System care found a ridiculously large amount of problems directly after running Ashampoo. I'm going to keep it for a few weeks but my initial impression is that the two programs that I have been using for years are still the best combination for cleaning up and speeding up a computer.

  Could not use wireless on my laptop for days. Tried everything Microsoft Website said to do---NOTHING worked. Also, windows troubleshooter was not working. Not only did it fix those two things, but it cleaned up lots of other issues. Now my computer is acting perfect. I liked it so much I downloaded it on my 7 y/o PC as well. Now, it is working GREAT!

  Speedy and efficient, meets all my system cleaning requirements. Easy to navigate and operate the modules.

  Had successfully used a much earlier hard copy version of WinOptimizer for several years, but required something VISTA compatible, this new version met all my requirements. The additional tools, File Encrypter, File Wiper, System Benchmark Check and Defragmenter are welcome, useful and easy to operate. Some registry files are not removed with Registry Cleaner, this is prob due to my reluctance, through lack of expertise, to alter default settings. The Disc Cleaner does not remove the Recent Shortcuts, but this is a minor problem. Overall excellent software.

  gives all the basic items to improve the speed of your cpu, helps you delete uneccesary files from internet and computer. a great starter optimizer for windows 2000 to windows7. easy to use and basic for everyone.

  none really for me

  Summary

  lots of features to optimize your computer! you can upgrade to WinOptimizer 5 or 6 if want extra features like colors and a few more! But great 1st starter for all ages to help improve and keep cpu in Optimised Performance!
