"Works Nicely But Likely an Orphan Program"
Version: ActiveDiary 3.5
Pros
I have used Active Diary since 2002 as a basic diary program and it has worked nicely -- nothing fancy but gets the job done. I had a few crashes but nothing serious.
Cons
It appears Windine Software is no more. A few months back I noticed that the support forums were invaded by spammers and then the forums disappeared altogether. Promised updates and new features never arrived. Now the Windine Software site has no info on Active Diary but instead info on restaurants. I already got my $25 worth out of this program but if I were you I would not spend a dime on this because you will likely be very disappointed -- there will likely be no upgrades or improvements. I did hear back from the developer when I set an email a few months back but that was when the Active Diary/Windine site was still active. I would look for a diary or journaling program that has better support and longevity.

"Looks nice but crashes occasionally"
Version: ActiveDiary 3.5
Summary
I tried this software with big hopes it would get the job done. Unfortunately, I found it would crash from time to time. When it did, I lost all the data I'd entered. Worse, the author has you on a unlock code system where you have to beg them for a new unlock code should you ever reinstall your OS or use the System Restore feature of Windows. When I had this issue they took days to respond and then treated me as though I was trying to rip them off. I'd say don't bother with this one.

"Very Secure"
Version: ActiveDiary 3.5
Summary
I found this program to work wonderfully. If someone tries to crack your password, when you log in the next time you get a warning telling you the date and the bogus password used. I thought it loaded very quickly, has never crashed. I am VERY pleased with this software
