Plan your dream kitchen with the new Kitchen Planner from ALNO. It is the next generation of Virtual Kitchen. While the prior version was based on rigid kitchen arrangements, ALNO Kitchen Planner allows you to position articles in a space of your choosing. You can define the room to be anywhere from 180 to 900 cm long and/or wide. You can put your articles anywhere within this space. This enables you to plan your own dream kitchen. The fully reprogrammed 3D kernel enables you to let your imagination run wild in your kitchen. Although calculations are run in real time, the program offers high quality display capabilities. Select floor and wall colors, put up windows and doors and then use your mouse to position your kitchen elements wherever you want them. You can decorate the planned kitchen with realistic accessories and modify the lighting conditions.
Version 0.96a may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

"OK but not in US measurements"

For free, not a bad program
Cons
It takes too long to convert inches and feet to CM.. etc.
If this program expects wide spread use in the US it needs to be expanded to do both measurements and the user sets which form of measurement they prefer. -

Some color schema definitions are not so user friendly. But it works...

I bought a programme for R500. Returned it as it was totally useless. Downloaded ALNO. Download was quick and without any problems.I thoroughly enjoyed using ALNO. Was easy to learn. Within 4 hours I had the perfect Kitchen consisting of 36m2. Battled a bit with the L-Shape. Would be nice if it could have a bigger variety of open Shelving in a Country / Cottage Style. Recommend

Didn't work properly, then crashed and gave me 50 error messages.

bad software, unreliable, menus are in german. Basically a TOTAL WASTE OF TIME

Very simple to use and great fun.

I didn't like when I looked at my design in 3D then wanted to go back into plan mode the whole thing locked up every time. Moving around the room in 3D could be easier.
Summary
Easy to install and use for planning. Plenty of options to include furniture you already have. You can even change the floor and wall tiles. Good fun changing the colours etc and seeing how the room will eventually look. Not that easy to move around on the 3D screen and it kept freezing every time I changed screens, so it is essential to save your work before going to each new screen as you will probably have to close the application and reopen it several times.

Great attempt at designing a design utility. Has great potential but needs work.
Cons
The cm measurement thing has to go if this will ever be saleable in the USA.
Summary
Ok if you live in Europe. Useless in the US. Everything about designing a kitchen is measurements. Everything gets measured in all dimensions. Measuring in cm's kills this program and ultimately prevented me from spending money on it.

I don't like it because it is in centimeters and not in inches. I haven't found a way to change that yet.
