When Google, Yahoo, or any other major search engine overwhelms you with so many matches it reads more results than dollars in the national debt, ChunkIt might be the plug-in for you. Available for Firefox and Internet Explorer, it "chunks" up your search returns, providing snippets of relevant text.

The add-on splits your browser tab into two vertical sections, the left side with the ChunkIt results and the right with unchunked returns. Clicking on the text of a ChunkIt result loads the text in the right pane, highlights the relevant bit in yellow, and scrolls directly to it. A link at the top of the pane opens the page that your result lives on in a new tab.

This is a large plug-in, weighing in at more than 8MB. Using it requires use of the ChunkIt toolbar, something that may not go over well as browser design becomes more streamlined. Users who need help narrowing down broad searches will find this plug-in exceptionally useful. On the other hand, users comfortable maneuvering through "the Google" might find ChunkIt extraneous to their needs.

ChunkIt saves so much time. I love that I can easily toggle between Google, Yahoo and Live Search without having to retype anything in. It is great for research but also works well on shopping sites - love to use it on Craigslist and amazon.com

Pros
ChunkIt! has a feature unlike any search engine or browser based search with Chunk Links. Chunk LInks allows a user to type in keywords and have each link in a page searched for those keywords.
Cons
Some of the buttons on the ChunkIt! bar are rarely used. Some of them do not bring anything to the table that hasn't been brought already. Other than that, it is a great search tool.
Summary
I'll go back to my spiel about Chunk Links. Lets say if I entered a keyword into the ChunkIt box and pressed Chunk Links while I was at download.com. This function will browse through the page that each link is redirected to and look for the keywords. Yes, thats right, I will look through the entire page of EACH redirected link. There have been pages with up to 300 links that it has searched through smoothly before for me. Try this product out for yourself and see if it can help you out too with narrowing down 100's of pages of links. - Oh wait, theres more. Not only does it go through all the linked pages, when it returns a hit, it will redirect you not only to the page, but to the exact location of the keyword you searched. Confused at all? Take on ChunkIt! for yourself.

Summary
If you search the net you will find this very useful. If you use this in business you will save a lot of money as time is money. Find what you need faster. The more you search the more time you will save. Pin point your searches to find exactly what you are looking for. I am glad I tried it. It has changed how I search the net. It is hard to search without it once you get used to it because you get to sift thru the the junk faster to get to what you are really looking for.

Pros
I have been looking for a house to purchase and I like to look for the bank owned homes. Chunkit allows my searches to be narrowed down and helps me view the homes quickly instead of having to click on each website. It saved me hour of time.
