Menu bar extension like the classic Apple menu.

This program brings back the Apple Menu to Mac OS X and includes also a complete application launcher. By adding one or more global menus to the right side of the menu bar you can easily access your preferred applications, folders (and subfolders), documents and files. Furthermore there's no explicit need for a configuration (e.g. creating lots of folders and aliases or adding items to user-defined setups) - just activate the menus you like. All menus and submenus update themselves automatically just like the good old Apple Menu so it's not necessary to refresh them manually. In addition, XMenu optionally displays small or large icons and follows aliases and symbolic links. Finally, please note that contrary to most other solutions, this is neither a hack ("haxie") nor an unofficial menu extra.

This is very nice, and I also like the fact that it is not a hack. If only there was a way to get it into the Blue apple thing on the left. Great work, and thanks for making it free.

...feature. This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. I never understood why Apple took away this feature in the first place? Every thing works great so far. All sub-folders, files and aliases appear and work just fine. The only thing I'd like to see added in future versions would be the option to pull down and switch between active applications as well.

But there are 2 things that could make this great program even better. 1. I would like to be able to replace the basic icons which appear in the menu bar with other icons (either the regular OS X set, or from custom sets). Replacing the icons which appear in the menu bar should be as simple as replacing the icons for any folder. 2. I would like to be able to create user-defined menus for the menu bar.

Was this the right name?) and other utilities had in OS9, was to can drag & drop in & out! A-Dock and other let me drag in, not out to another destination to make order like using the Finder itself. But.. great.

Don't understand why people write neg reviews of freeware just because they don't want the function it offers. XMenu provides access to my many applications much, much faster than a dock icon would.
