• Installer quirky, 7-day trial expired after two hours

  Pros

  If you're happy with 'ok, I guess that's ok...' this is the program for you. If not, move on.

  Cons

  User interface makes NO sense whatsoever. If one bit of text is selected, why do some animation options trash EVERYTHING you just worked on for the last hour, instead of just what's selected, and some don't?

  Summary

  I need blood pressure medication after this. The 'free trial' expired almost immediately. I signed-up to extend it for 30 days, it reported 17. Closed/opened the software, it reported 2 days. Close/open again, -EXPIRED-.

  NO PROS - I cannot write a pro on something I cannot even install!

  Cons

  After prompted to install, the install is stuck on "Please select a language.." you can only choose - "English (UK)" The "Complete" button is shaded out and it forces you to cancel the install. Guess by the review above it was it was meant for this download to not occur.

• Buyers of Xara3D Beware!

  Nothing good to say about Xara3D.

  After buying the product, Xara did not deliver anything...not even a real receipt with an order number.

  Summary

  I bought Xara3D at the Xara web site. The last page of the order process provided a download link. After clicking the download link, I was directed to a dead HTTP 404 page. No download of the purchased software. One day after purchasing the software, Xara has not emailed a receipt or a download link. Now I must file a billing dispute with my credit card compay to recover my money. What a rip off!

  Was a great program in the older versions for creating 3D text then modifying it in photoshop.

  Cons

  Won't install using any compatibility mode in Windows 7.

  Don't waste your time on Vista/Win7.

  To easy to use. Downloaded the first time and i went straight to playing around. Easy, Easy, Easy, which is the way i need it to be. I have very little computer design experience, and this product makes me look like a seasoned vet. Thanks

  Pros

  I've used Xara for about 10 years to create great looking headers for web pages and VB programs. It's great for overlaying good looking, easily changed text on top of a graphic background.

  Cons

  The animation stuff is really cool but isn't of much use in a business environment.

  Pros

  I love some of the features. The shadow maker, 3d extrusion tools are both excellent.

  Cons

  I'm still trying to find and use the cropping tool and some of the other more basic tools. Seems like their toolbars are hard to use. The GIF making software was very hard to use. No easy way to start a GIF, in compared to other software.

  Summary

  While the software performed well, I found it somewhat difficult to use.
