Editors’ Review
Windows Supervisor is an adequate system monitoring tool, although its surveillance efforts aren't as steadfast as many we've seen. The program's interface is very well-organized, with a quick summary of opened Windows, keyboard activity, Internet usage, printer jobs, screen captures, and instances of prohibited detections. Prohibited detections aren't configurable and only offer three options to bar content from loading: prohibit porn, stop explicit content such as strong language, and block personal details from being entered.
Unfortunately, its Low, Medium, and High settings to control the prohibited items are erratic. When we opted to prohibit personal information, its Low setting gave no fight, but the High setting wouldn't even let our home page load. However, the prohibited sites feature only worked when set to High. Though we like its automatic e-mailing feature, we were disheartened that Windows Supervisor lacks a scheduler. The program is password-protected, but oddly, uninstalling the program doesn't require the password. This 15-day trial has some useful features, but administrators and parents will quickly see that it has some catching up to do.
