• Doesn't quite hit the spot

  Pros

  Decent tutorial on their web site makes using the very simple interface a snap. Basic operation is a breeze. Sound was very good, a nice surprise.

  Cons

  Video quality was poor, heavily pixelated. Registration nag in middle of screen renders trial version video useless. Sound options didn't register correctly.

  Summary

  I highly recommend going to their web site and watching their tutorial. It makes using the incredibly simple interface a snap. The basic functions worked as advertised and I was able to select an area where a video was playing to record both sound and video. However, here's the caveats. First, the trial version has a nag screen so if you don't plan to pay for this software don't waste your time. Secondly, the video was heavily pixelated. It could be the settings I chose - I didn't play with it very long because of the nag screen (I need to test on a REAL stream tomorrow and won't pay if it can't pass that test). Also, the demo used a discrete audio card. My integrated audio didn't appear to register properly though I was able to get around that. I don't need to do a voice-over but the software didn't detect my microphone jack. Overall, decent but overpriced and unpolished.
